Casa Juan Carlos (Centro Havana)
My review: Since 2005, I am travelling once a year at Cuba, and I always stay at Casa de Juan. I visited others but I didn't like it.
Juan y Carlita are so warmfull and hepfull.
The place is safe, clean and friendly.
The situation is the best for me . It is outside the rush of the turisme, but at the time very nearby. In 5 minutes walking, you are at Havana Vieja.
The price is correct, the breakfast is great and very generous.
I recommand this casa to all my friends and they loved it.

Casa Juan Carlos (Centro Havana)
My review: I have stayed in this casa for the first time in 2003, and ever since I keep coming back. Having travelled through whole Cuba, I have to say this is the friendliest family I have met, and we have become real friends since then.
Casa itself is lovely: renovated in the original style using the old-style materials and decorations. Two rooms are for rent: one with double bed and one with two singles.
Clarita, the wife of Juan Carlos, makes delicious breakfasts and dinners. Juan Carlos is always there to help with advice or just to have a casual chat.
The house is kept spotless. The rooms get plenty of natural light. Bathroom is shared but is always clean and fresh. Rooms have direct access to the bathroom.
I also really like the location: it's away from the tourist streets, so nobody hassles you there. Yet, it's 3 mins walk to Malecon, 2 mins to Prado, 5 to Capitoleo and another 10 to Havana Vieja.
Best part, however, is the family themselves: I have been helped by them numerous times and always, always felt like a part of the family. They have never asked anything extra from me, but were of course grateful whenever I brought some gifts. I always leave my clothes, shoes, medicines and cosmetics behind, and Juan Carlos passes them on to poorer people of the neighborhood. I have always left with a very warm feeling.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Colonial, Cozy, Hidden gem, Roomy, Charming, Beautiful, Safe
Amenities: TV, Airconditioning, Laundry service, Balcony, Ceiling fan, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: I have stayed in both rooms during different visits. Both were really fine (see description above).
How was the food they offer?: Fantastic! Considering how much trouble Clarita has to go into to get the fresh ingridients and to cook the dinner (the gas in the central area is very irregular as there are many big hotels that use up the gas), the food was always really really good. I have noticed some other guests who stay at some other place but come to eat in this casa - because the food is simply the best!

Casa Juan Carlos
My review: The Casa is very well located next to Old City, near the Malecon and the sea and also around the corner to the Casa de la Musica of the city center. This is especially for those who like to spend time in the city center where there are all the museums, enjoy the athmosphere of the old town and dancing.
The rooms very nice and tidy and very spacious. The food - breakfast and dinner - was plenty and very good. The lady of the house is a great cook.
I loved to stay in this casa as the hosts were very helpful and lovable. We had a really good time with them. Talking, joking, we even played domino together. Here you get a taste of the best Cuba has to offer i.e. nice people.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Colonial, Roomy, Charming
Amenities: Airconditioning, Laundry service, Balcony, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Bathroom with tub, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Rooms: The are three large rooms which very tidy as well as the shared bathroom with a tub and shower. The was also a ceiling and other fans in the room.
How was the food they offer?: The breakfast was large. A lot of fruit of the season (guayava, pineapple, bananas, mangos, etc) eggs, ham, vegetables, bread, cheese, coffee /tea, juice. A huge breakfast. Anything you could wish for. We ate also dinner. It was as great as the breakfast. The lady of the house is a really good cook. We had fish, different meats, lobster, and typical Cuban food. Each meal included also salad, rice etc. We had often a menu with suberb soups as starters. The food was really well spiced. In this casa you get to taste really good Cuban home made food.
Other services they offer: We used also the laundry service but the hosts will do there upmost to be able to give any service needed.
Other comments: The hosts were very helpful and lovable. They organized for us spanish lessons with a very skillful, from the university retired teacher and also dance lessons in a nearby beautiful dance school. They helped us with anything we needed and gave great tips for how to do things, where to go, where to buy things and at what price etc.

Casa Juan Carlos
My review: A nice house in a real neighborhood of Havana.
You are in the center of the city. Near the Malecon, Old Havana, La Rampa in Vedado.Everything is close. Good communications and if you want to walk everywhere. If you want, you will meet real Havana.
The house is cozy, quiet and you will meet hosts will please you in everything you want and can.
You'll have a room with all amenities, air conditioning, in which I was, but another with fans, if you do not like the Air.
You'll have a nice breakfast and rich, because the supply is daily.
I recommend this house. Go now and go back again
You'll pass wonderfully
