This is an amazing place. It was the first place I stayed at in Cuba. The hosts were warm, friendly - simply fantastic. A huge plus is a patio in the center of the house - all the rooms open onto the patio.

How was your room?: My room was spacey (extremely high ceiling, a queensize bed and a single, a fan, clean sheets..) with 3-m-high windows opening onto the patio.
How was the food they offer?: We only had breakfast, which was lovely - bread, butter, jam, coffee, milk, cheese, eggs, fruit, freshly squeezed juice.. No complaints.

I planned to stay two nights but then I stayed four nights! The casa has one separated guest-room with private bathroom, fridge, AC, TV etc. But the best of this casa is the location: from your privat terrace where you get breakfast and diner you look into the huge garden and to the sea. At the border of the garden there is a stairway to the sea, so you have a private access to the sea for swimming. there are two deck-chairs / sunbeds in the garden.
The casa is about 3-4 km in the east of Matanza centre next to street directing to Varadero, there is a gas-station with a small cuba-car-station, 50 m from there heading to the sea you will find Villa Lili.
Definitly my best casa during my three weeks in cuba. By the way, at the end I stayed another two days there (in total 6 nights).

Other comments: Wilfredo and Lili (a former doctor) are wonderful hosts! Wilfredo even speaks a little bit english.

Perfect place to stay if you want to visit the pigs bay/ baha de cocchinos. 25 minutes drive to cueva de los pecos, were you see a little cabin. Here you can dive wit Hector the diving instructor for 25 CUC (45 min. inc.guide and gear). Just meters from the coast, so also nice for a beginner.
Hector recommended us Zenaida, the doctor. But when we came there, she was full. She already arranged that we could stay at her "neighbours": casa de Cuelia.
This people were very, very friendly. We enjoyed the evening with whole the family, drunk, eat, dance and tried to talk with eachother. :#
The diner was marvellous. Grandma is a very good cook. #10 CUC p.p.# The Breakfast was also fine. #3 CUC p.p.#
The room was with airco, fridge, bathroom. Double bed was okay. #25 CUC p.n.) Private parking

The casa is an excellent place to stay if you want to drive to the "pigs bay/ baya cocchinos", for example diving, swimming or so.
If you want to dive: go to the cueva des pecos #25 min. drive#: On the landside is a little cabin. Ask for Hector. He is a good guide. Marvellous sightings, just meters from the coast. Prices from 25 CUC p.p. including divinggear, instructor, 45 minutes.
You can ask at the gasoil station at the crossing to Jaguey Grande for Orlando, because he works there and he can guide you to his casa.
They have a marvellous backyard. Zulema talks a lot. They both do not speak English, but they are more then willing to try and use the dictionary you brought or use gestures.
They ate with us together our diner. #7/ 8 CUC p.p.# Breakfast was okay #3/ 4 CUC p.p.#

it was a bit of surprise (arriving from Tinidad) that there are not many casas particulares in Cardenas. so, when I was approach by a local who promised to take me to a nice casa, I agreed. He took me to a nice place, but it wasn't an official casa particular. i could get in a lot of trouble! the taxi driver took me to a wanderfull place. a hidden gem of Cardenas. I was safe. although I arrived without any booking,at lunch time and Angelo was busy cooking for his friends, in half an hour the room was ready and I could relax. felt like home. The house is seven blocks away from the main street of Cardenas and walking distance to the bus station. very close to the bus Cardenas - Varadero. I was very, very lucky!
First time in Cuba. On my own. Loved it! I will go back to Cuba next year and for sure I will visit Angelo and his lovely Mum again :-)

Other comments: I felt like at home with my own family. Angelo runs his house together with his mum - a very friendly and kind lady.
relaxing in his garden was the best thing after a long, hot day.

Angelo’s experience in the Varadero tourism industry for the past 15 years makes him and incredible host. He will do his very best to arrange everything and anything you wish for. He will be your personal concierge, very helpful!
This casa particular is located in a safe neighbourhood, just 15 minutes away from beautiful Varadero. It offers three comfortable rooms on the second floor, each one has a TV, independent air condition, mini fridge (with water, pops and beer), private bathroom with hot/cold water, and independent entrance. The rooms are great, better than any of the 4 stars resorts I’ve stayed at in Cuba.
Angelo’s has a big beautiful patio with lots of plants, the perfect place to relax and sip on a little “Café Cubano”. The second floor has a nice little private balcony where you can sit and enjoy a wonderful meal.
At Angelo’s you can also enjoy a great meal. They offer breakfast, lunch & dinner on demand. The food is very tasty, I recommend you have at least one meal there…if you do, you will definitely want to eat every single meal there.
By far the best casa particular I’ve visited in Cuba!

its a proper and big house for onley 25 cuc the day.you have a living,dining,bed and bathroom for yourself.when you need something, you can call with the housephone and the owner coming directly.the breakfast is 4 cuc and the dinner 7-10 cuc.
you have also a privat parking.
matanzas have a own beach and the beach of varadero is onley 25 minutes from matanzas.

It's great place. The room I stayed comes with a private washroom. Most importantly it's a very clean place. Very homely feeling. The owners Jose and Teresa are very nice people. I arrived there late and still they made me good Dinner for me. The room has air condition. I recommend this place for anyone.

Placed in the historical center of the city, easy access to Varadero. An independent aircon room with independent bath, warm water the whole day, TV, refrigerator and kitchen(cuisine) provided with furniture. Total privacy. They cook for you if you want it, as an option.

Jorge and Nadia should be running a resort. Best seafood on their rooftop dining area, they make their own sausage and its FANTASTIC and the Mojitos are accompanied by great discussions.... Strongly recommend the coffee! We arrived with gifts for local kids and they pulled together a pueblo party so we could give everything away! Thanks Cuba Junky. We are now addicted to Cuba! Viveka and Adam, Canada.

The rooms are great and even better than the 4 star resort I stayed at in Varadero. Jorge is an Engineer and he has customized them to fit everybody's need.
Above all of this Jorge and Nadia is two of the best people I have ever met in my life. For example when we arrived at their Casa it was around 10 PM and I asked Jorge if he could get us some fresh chicken for dinner instead of the pork that they had available and the only think he said was "no problem" and he made at least 15 phone calls to find Us fresh chicken at that time and at the end we had some great dinner.

Across the main road from a rocky beach, air-conditioning,
