Just 16 km west of Old Havana, but aesthetically worlds apart, Havana Miramar has all the appearance of a wealthy suburb. Lying on the west side of the Río Almendares it is easily reached by bus, via two road tunnels or bridges. Easy on the eye, it's a relaxed strolling ground of broad avenues, lined with early 20th-century art nouveau mansions, graceful fountains and romantic parks.
