Casa Dona Marta
Marta is a fantastic hostess and goes beyond the call of duty such as making phone calls (taxi, airport, etc.) for her guests. One feels at home right away with her and her sister. Very centrally located and convenient to sights. View of the Malecon at the end of the street.
Casa specifics: Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Roomy, Safe
Amenities: Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Balcony, Ceiling fan, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Extra bed available, Bathroom with tub, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Spacious clean bedroom and bathroom. The bed was more comfortable than most in casas particulares.
How was the food they offer?: We requested vegetarian food and it was simply delicious. Marta is an excellent and creative cook. We had beautiful big fresh salads and fruit plates along with traditional and very well prepared Cuban dishes. Also, other very tasty vegetable dishes, soup, and dessert, all homemade.
Other services they offer: The hostess is very helpful and offers right away to make calls, etc. for her guests.
Other comments: Marta speaks very good English. The Casa we had reservations for had received other guests for an 8-day stay and we required only one night so Marta quickly welcomed us at her casa which was nearby.

Casa Dona Marta
The room i rented at Marta and Omars was spacious and comfortable. There was a double bed, single bed and a cot so good for families also. Good fan and air conditioning with a fridge in the room where Marta put a bottle of boiled water in the fridge daily. Its in a great location five minutes from the Malecon, a balcony with a sea view and a street view where i enjoyed having my good strong coffee. It is only a 15 minute walk to Vieja. I rarely needed taxis once i got the grid of the city. An independent bathroom with a bath and good shower with 24 hrs hot water. Clean. The building was secure.

How was your room?: MY room was spacious and clean. Good storage. Good air conditioning and fan. A fridge where Marta put boiled and chilled water daily. There was a comfortable double, single and a cot so good for families.
I had an independent bathroom with 24 hrs hot water and decent shower pressure. A bath and v clean.
How was the food the offer?: Marta cooked fabulous breakfasts tortiallas, v good bread and v strong good coffee. Good fruit juices and fruit. And pancakes with syrup that set me up for the day. Unfortunately i didnt have a meal in the evening as my budget was running low however i dont doubt she can cook.
Other services they offer: Marta and Omar have many contacts, they have an internet service and you can use there phone, Marta will even call on your behalf in situations where you need good english.
Marta also did my laundry as a complimentry service.
Other comments: I only planned to stay at this Casa for 3 days but I was happy and comfortable there so ended up staying a full week.
When i arrived late and tired and with a few money problems as i had lost money in Trinidad and my debit card didnt work.
Marta and Omar immediately put me at ease and made lots of phone calls on my behalf. Marta wanted to take me to the banks and Tourist info but had a dental appointment, her english is very good. She asked Omar her husband to sort things out with me in the morning. They really were kind and trusting that I would get this solved. And I did. They gave me my space and were always there if I needed anything.
Very good trusting people Im very glad i met and would definately stay again and be in touch on my return to Habana. I now consider friends.
