Arturo is an excellent host. He chatted at length about anything we wanted to know. He booked our collectivo taxi to Vinales. He organised a taxi to and from the airport. He gave us ideas on places to visit and where to eat. Nothing was too much trouble. We did not meet Susana. The building is amazing, an old bank. Ceilings are twenty feet high so there's no heat problem. The casa is in the middle of Old Havana, perfectly situated to explore the city. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this casa to friends. How was your room?: Our room was clean, large and had a balcony overlooking the street. There was a fan which was enough as the room has such a high ceiling and the building is old and built to keep rooms cool How was the food they offer?: We had breakfast every morning. Lots of fresh fruit, toast, coffee and eggs as well as a delicious fruit drink made freshly in front of us. Other services they offer: Taxi to and from airport, booking transport to other towns and cities. Suggesting where to visit and things to do. |

My review: The casa and the rooms are beautiful and very specious. The location is also gerat- however quite loud at night. Unfortunately there is no private bathroom and the water pressure and 
warm water were problematic. The breakfast was ok, although there could be more variety.
The owner Susana is very nice and very helpful. Her English is very good and her recommendations were awesome. She arranged a taxi for our trip to Vinales. It would be nice to see more of her though as she did not actually live in the casa.

My review: Susana is an incredible host! The casa is clean, spacious and perfectly located for exploring Old Havana. Susana (and her husband) gave us lots of excellent sightseeing, eating and nightlife recommendations!
She was more than happy to book restaurants, collectivo taxis and casas in other towns.
Would definitely recommend to my friends and family. Thanks Susana!
How was your room?: The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Although there was not air conditioning, the fans were fine as the room itself is airy and high-ceilinged.
How was the food they offer?: Delicious breakfast options. Especially the coffee!!

My review: Stayed 3 days at this casa, although not in this casa, but in the casa of the owner at Villegas 211, one street from Obispo. I had a very warm welcome and enjoyed my stay very much! The casa and my room were spacious and clean and located perfectly in Havana Vieja. Susana and Artur gave me a lot of tips and were even so kind to show me the city and the beach! Felt I was staying at a friend's place. Thanks and hope to see you again!
How was your room?: Very spacious and very clean with private bathroom. Shower was nice, just be patient for the warm water. Bed was excellent. I love the high ceiling!
How was the food they offer?: Good, really enjoyed the pancakes and the fruit juices!

My review: I have been to Havana a number of times and this was my Second time staying at La Bolsa De La Habana, I will never stay anywhere else in Havana again, I cant get enough of this place. It was a no brainer! I am an architect from Australia, The Bolsa is the most beautiful building, with the most comfortable rooms, in the perfect location with by far the greatest hosts in all of Cuba, And so cheap. Susana and Lee are the reason I came back to Havana. They are the most warm and friendly people in the whole world and will do anything in their power to make your stay the most pleasant experience of your life. They showed us the real, local Havana and helped us all the way through from pointing us in the right direction for sight seeing, organizing transport, booking further accommodation around Cuba to even taking care of us when we had no money because our cards would not work in the cash machines. And they are contactable from overseas which I found was almost impossible with the first few Casa's I stayed with before I found Lee and Susana. Susanna would come in the mornings and make the most amazing breakfast and every time we left we would come back and the house would be impeccably clean and the fridge re-stocked. They even organized a whole pig on the spit and we were all able to sit down to a Cuban family style dinner. I cant recommend this place enough. If you are going to Havana, This is the only place to stay.

My review: Susana is the best host! She is so helpful with tips of all Havana, including delicious restaurants not to miss. Also! Every question you may have about Cuban culture she'll sit with you and explain everything. We were constantly spoiled by her! So sweet! Everything is super clean and full respect of privacy. But the host is really the cherry on top. Highly recommended!

Her casa is in the perfect location in Havana vieja and is incredibly atmospheric, clean and comfortable. I could not recommend enough staying with Susana, it will really make your trip in Cuba that much more special! How was your room?: Stunning colonial room with high ceilings, big windows and a very comfortable large bed.

My review: Susana's particular is the BEST decision I could have made.
Place: the place is fantastic and spacious, I occupied one room and a friend occupied the other. My room had a window with a small balcony, which was a great area to sit and sample some of the aromatic vintage habanos (Havana cigars) that Havana has on offer. The rooms open into a roofed terrace, where one can have breakfast or catch up with some reading.
Location: The particular is in the middle of everything Habana Vieja has to offer from Parque Central, Floridita, to culinary heaven Los Nardos.
Best of all, the HOST: It took Susana under an hour to respond to my first inquiry, from then on she was accessible for any questions by e-mail right up till I was ready to travel. She arranged for pick-up at the airport (for a standard fee), every single step was smooth. In a place adjusting to American tourism, there are some challenges (little to no ATM use, sporadic wi-fi access), you need a RESPONSIVE host.
That Susana was. Susana made recommendations on where to go and how to get there. Also Susana saved my trip, when I was faced with a serious problem: diminishing cash and a lot of things left to do. Susana worked very patiently, very kindly to enable us to transfer money from the United States to Havana by Western Union. It required going back and forth a few times to Western Union to make all necessary arrangements. Susana was there each time, facilitating, working in order for us to get it done.
Before we left, Susana was even kind enough to open one of her premium bottles of aged Santiago de Cuba for a toast to our trip.
I would recommend to everyone. Whatever little you save booking elsewhere, is more than exceeded by Susana's place and her host services!!

My review: My father and I stayed at Casa Bolsa de la Habana for only one night but were very impressed by both the service provided by Susana and also the room/location of the casa. Susana was great at providing everything necessary to ensure our arrival was smooth and to make sure we didn't run out of things to do in Havana. The casa itself is in a historical building (former bank) and makes for an interesting stay. Everything was clean and in order. Thanks for the great hospitality!
How was your room?: The room was clean and provided a nice view to watch over Obrapia Street below. It was quite a cozy atmosphere!
How was the food they offer?: Breakfast provided by Susana was tasty, and it was nice to chat with her in the morning.

My review: We only stayed one night with Susanna as we returned from Trinidad before leaving Cuba. Unfortunately, I became ill in Trinidad, but I could not have asked for a more comfortable bed to sleep in upon arrival in Havana. Susanna is so sweet, and also very helpful - she offered me medicine, and in the morning I still couldn't eat, but her and her husband (who is also great) made me mint tea. The Casa we stayed in was not the Casa Bolsa de la Habana, but another casa in a great location for exploring Havana Vieja (211 Villegas Street - see photos in other reviews). The casa was surprisingly quiet considering the location.
Next time I visit Cuba I will stay with her again. I definitely recommend the casa - but book in advance - she's quite popular!!!

How was the food they offer?: I can't comment, as I was on the mend from sickness.

My review: We didn't actually stay in this casa so this is a review of the hosts. There was some misunderstanding about our booking or a problem with the actual casa so Susana offered to accommodate us in a room with private bathroom in her house which we really appreciated. The room was very comfortable. Both Susana and her partner, Arturo, a Canadian as it turned out, welcomed us extremely warmly and he gave us wonderful recommendations as to what to see and do in Havana, and in particular, where to eat. We followed up with his many suggestions and were not the least bit disappointed. The English of both is excellent. We needed to make an emergency telephone home, not an easy task in Cuba, and both Susana and Arturo kindly offered us the use of their personal cell phones. They are truly a lovely couple. We would highly recommend using their Casa and them for your enjoyment of Havana.

My review: We would stay 3 nights on our arrival in Cuba and then our last night too. When we arrived the hostess informed us that there was no water in the buildning but we shouldn't worry because she had a friend with available rooms. Needless to say, the room she took us cost 35 euro but it shoulb cost max 15e...Next day she took us though to her appartments and she gve us the room just ahead the front door. One bathroom for both 2 rooms of the building so NO PRIVATE BATHROOM as advertised...The wall between or room and the kitchen was only halfway tall so you hear the other couple from the other room come in and out or taking breakfast which was consisted by the way either coconut pancakes or bread with cheese n' ham (coffee, juice included) for 5euro per person. In Habana with 5euro you can take delicious and abbondant breakfast for 2 persons. The last night of our stay in Cuba, we asked her to put us in the other room in order to have more privacy and it was indeed larger and with all 4 wall as it should be, so a normal room and much less noisy.
As for the hostess, she is a young, kind and helpfull girl which only (her own words) is to take care of the 2 rented appartments. She wasn't there though on the arranged time when we came for our last night so we had to call her to her mobile cuban phone...After a while you see that she just focus to the money.
I would recommend it if you only get the room away from the kitchen and if you don't have a problem with the shared bathroom! Take your breakfast somewhere else, nearby...
How was the food they offer?: Usual pancakes. The juice should be fresh but checking the fridge everyday the same juice was there...

My review: La Bolsa De La Habana now has 2 locations, only a few streets apart!
I love staying in the old Bank of Canada building, so when it was all rented out for the day I was in town, I was put in the room now available at the owner's home, at 211 Villegas Street.
Absolutely stupendous! Lovely room, private, quiet, and Susana's husband Arturo is amazing.
At this location, you can go up 2 floors to the rooftop, where the view does not disappoint.
Arturo cooked a great supper, he is a super cook!, and the roof top has lights, a new tile 'floor' - everything about my stay here was very relaxing and chill - exactly what I needed before going back to Canada.
How was your room?: Large, clean, quiet
How was the food they offer?: Excellent
Other services they offer: Susana and Arturo are well connected in their community; they know where to find anything you wish to see, do or experience.
Arturo holds yoga classes several time per week, on the roof top - imagine, in the centre of Old Habana!
Other comments: You will see other case's at maybe 25 or 30 CUC per night; I guarantee that you will not have the excellent location, room, service and atmosphere as you will when staying with Susana and Arturo

My review: The place is simply incredible, it is an old bank that has now been turned into a casa and out of all the places we stayed this building was definitely the most unique. I don't think there are many places in the world where you can stay in such an historical building. The location is also fantastic, it is right in the middle of old Havana, allowing you to easily visit all the key locations.
However, the best about this casa is the host Susana, She was extremely friendly and helpful. We struggled to find any casas in Trinidad and Vinales as it was the peak period during xmas and new years but she spent a lot of effort to help us find casas and saved our entire trip. She even invited us back to her place for New years eve BBQ and the traditional water pouring celebrations. Susana and her husband definitely helped make this Cuba trip unforgettable!
How was your room?: The room was very spacious with high ceilings and a balcony. The bed is very comfortable and there were also a couple fans to keep the room cool. There is a shared bathroom which is very clean and as there is only one other room, we never had any issues with sharing it. As with most casas in old Havana, the water pressure is a little weak though.
How was the food they offer?: We only ate breakfast in the casa and it was great. Susana provides a few different options for breakfast and our favourite was the fresh coconut pancakes.
Other services they offer: Susana knows everything and can surely solve any problem which you may encounter along the way.

My review: I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The apartments are spacious, bright and airy, and the historic building itself is charming and simply beautiful with lovely architectural details and 20-ft ceilings. It's well located in the heart of Old Havana, and walkable to most of the main sites in the city. There is a kitchen and bathroom shared between the rooms.
Susanna was a lovely and energetic host. She gave us fantastic recommendations for food, music and sites, and helped us with booking long-distance taxis.

My review: First time in Habana is really a wonderful surprise. Everything has to be discovered but not immediately.. You must take your time and better way to do that is staying in Suzanna and Arthur' house. It is like staying in your house, ever open for you and for all you necessary.
Nice house and kind and trusty people.
And what else about the owners: they both are lovely. They help you for everything anyway and anytime. You only have to ask them.
Our staying in their beautiful house in Habana Veja has been perfect.
How was your room?: Room very nice and clean.
Typical colonial room but with a toilet really new and good.

House in general is the best I found in Cuba. It has also a very nice terrace on the street!

My review: Great casa in old Habana, Susana is a great host and a great cook. The breakfeast was very tasty giving me enough energy for a full day of visiting.
The flat is located in the center of Old habana, in the old Canadian bank. The flat is very spacious made of two (possibly 3 bedrooms), 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom. It is the perfect house for a familly or two couples. (you can also use the kitchen to cook)
The flat is very clean and has a relaxing feel to it.
Susanna is very easy to deal with, she can organise taxi PU and has plenty of informations about cuba and Habana.
would love to go back there.

My review: I stayed there for 4 nights, susanna is really nice and helpful. The house is really special and it is transformed into house from a old post officeis in the old town, and quite near every tourist site. I do had a good time there!
