La Estancia, casa de Katy y Linares

My review: I arrived late at Varadero airport, and as I haggled about cab-fare I ended up with the most illmannered and evil-tempered cab-driver in all of Cuba. Fortunately this bad first impression quickly changed once I arrived at "La Estancia".
Katy and Linares made me feel wellcome right away and I was very impressed with the room, or rather appartment. It is big, clean, and spacious. A big bed, nice big bathroom, and a living-room with kitchenette and bar. A real bargain at that price.

In the yard there is a pool to relax after a long day, and there is a roof-terrace with a great view of the bay of Matanzas. A good place to do your morning exercise, or enjoy the cool evening breeze.
You can safely leave your rental car in the yard in front of the house or in the garage. The house is located on the outskirts of Matanzas, but the city is easily reached by bus. Gas-station, Cadeca and restaurant are within walking distance, but there is no need for a restaurant, as Katy is a great cook.
The appartment has its own stair-way, so you can live in total privacy, or you can drop down to the kittchen, for a chat with the hosts. Katy and Linares are both well-educated. They are very helpful and always in the mood for a chat.
For that special cuban experience you can rent a classical car with a friend of the house, either for a single trip or for the whole day. The car seats up to 8 people.
