Elio Ramos
My review: After researching different Casa Particulars in Trinidad, I chose that of Elio Ramos. I picked his casa as he was well represented on the internet and was very efficient in communicating with me. He always responded to his emails within 24 hours and spoke English (and Italian) fluently to easily confirm my reservation.
His home is very clean, safe, and located in the downtown of Trinidad. It is 7 miles from the beach (easily travelled via taxi). There are two rooms located on the second floor, one on the first floor. On the rooftop of the building, there is a lovely patio to stargaze. The food (breakfast and dinner) was wonderful, prepared by his friend Renier. A particular note – for breakfast, the cookie-biscuits are fantastic and addictive. His sister did our laundry with less than 24 hour turnaround. The room was air-conditioned, well maintained, and the honor bar was well stocked with reasonable prices.
Elio did everything he could to make our stay a comfortable and memorable one, from providing us with a tour of Trinidad and a walking map to arranging a car to drive us back to Havana. He even provided our travel companions with another place to stay at the last minute (we did not warn him of their arrival). He is a very good host and should consider buying another casa to increase his space and availability.

My review: Se stai cercando la casa particular migliore di Cuba, l'hai trovata! Elio (il titolare) è una persona molto ospitale che ti accoglie con un mojito di benvenuto. Tutti sono molto gentili, le camere pulissime dotate di frigobar (attrezzatissimo!!), con ventilatore e aria condizionata (l'unica nel mio viaggio che non faceva un rumore insopportabile) e coloratissime. Il bagno sempre pulito e dotato di acqua calda e fredda tutto il giorno (un altra rarità nell'isola). La casa è su 3 piani, colorata e con un terrazzo al piano superiore perfetto per godersi un po di aria guardando i tetti della bellissima Trinidad. E vogliamo parlare delle colazioni o delle cene? Incredibilmente ricche e abbondanti, dai sapori di casa!! Insomma, una delle cose più belle del mio viaggio è stato il soggiorno a casa di Elio....non perdetevelo!

My review: When we arrived in Trinidad, the Casa that we reserved and paid for through Hostel brokers.com never showed up to pick us up. When we tried to call, we got a message that their phone was no longer in service. That was when we met Elio. He invited us to tour his Casa to see if we would like to stay there. It was getting dark and we had no place to stay so we were almost desperate.
Much to our surprise, this was a wonderful casa. The pictures on his Facebook page are very accurate. It was clean, safe, and comfortable. Our room provided two comfortable beds, a refrigerator, a spacious and well-equipped bathroom with hot showers and good water pressure. There was also air-conditioning and a fan and both worked beautifully. Nice linens and towels were provided.
There is a lovely patio right outside the room with a palapa where we enjoyed our meals. In Trinidad, we cannot reccommend any restaurants because we took all of our meals at the Casa. Elio's brother is the chef and the meals were outstanding. There is an extra charge for the food but it was very inexpensive and well worth much more. There is also a rooftop deck that is great for photographs.
While you are there, ask Elio to give you a walking tour of the city. You can cover the entire town in a day. It is very interesting to hear about the history of this UNESCO World site from someone who klnows and loves it so much. Also ask him to call Lionel for a horse drawn ride around the town at sunset. It is very romantic and relaxing.
The afternoon thunderstorms under the palapa were an unexpected treat. The only negative was that we only stayed three days. When we left we took a little piece of Elio and his wonderful family in our hearts with us forever.
Unlike several of the Casa Particulares reviews that we have read on this site, this one is from an actual guest. We have no interest or connection with this casa and this review is not written by anyone connected with Casa Elio.
Also, Internet, banking, and transportation are all nearby.

How was your room?: The room was very clean. Anything you nedded was provided or Elio would find it for you. One afternoon, he went out and brought back soda to fill the fridge for us.
How was the food they offer?: The food was great. On our walking tour, we passed a cart that sold vegetables. Elio stopped and bought vegetables. Later that evening, we were served the absolute best vegetable soup we have ever had.

My review: Elios' casa was great. It was so much more than we expected & exactly what we needed after traveling around cuba. Nothing was too much trouble & the food was the best food we had in cuba. Totally recommend staying there.

My review: l'ostello per eccellenza, per pulizia e disponibilità della famiglia Ramos.
La casa si trova in centro e a piedi si raggiunge tranquillamente la piazza di Trinidad.Elio è una persona disponibile e già da prima mattina è pronto e attivo per portarti in giro.La pulizia delle camere è eccellente e ogni camera ha il proprio bagno.Insomma, credo che a Trinidad non si possa trovar di meglio.Da consigliare e ritornarci sicuramente.Io sono stata consigliata da amici che sono stati lì qualche anno prima e ho contattato

How was the food they offer?: Ogni mattina abbiamo trovato un'abbondante colazione, biscotti fatti dallo chef Renier, uova e pancetta, marmellata, pane e latte...insomma tutto il necessario.Su richiesta lo chef ci ha preparato una cenetta con i fiocchi, Aragosta e contorni vari, da leccarci i baffi.

My review: We stayed in this Casa for 2 nights and we really liked it. Elio was nice and the lady as well. He always organized the taxi for us and he also helped to find another casa in Cienfuegos. We never did this kind of stuff before but we really enjoyed living with this family.

Hostal Elio Trinidad Cuba
My review: Abbiamo conosciuto Elio (prof. di italiano) mentre eravamo in giro per Trinidad....ci ha dato il benvenuto nella sua magica città e ci ha invitato a prendere un caffè ed a visitare la sua casa.
Abbiamo cenato e soggiornato una notte. La casa è molto accogliente e pulita. Le stanze sono dotate di bagno in camera e aria condizionata. La cena (pesce servito con coloratissime e ottime verdure) è stata davvero di nostro gradimento e non ci ha fatto rimpiangere la cucina italiana!
Il tutto condito dal calore di Elio e della sua famiglia. Davvero ospitali!

My review: We found a lovely habitacion at Lino Perez 159.
Elio was a very good host and he could tell us a lot of interesting things (in English). He and his sister made us feel home.
We stayed 6 nights in this casa. He delivered us two bicycles, so we could cycle to the beach Ancon. Marvelous snorkling! There also is a roof terrace. So we could sit and read there during the time we did not go out. This casa was very good to stay and the breakfast and the 2 other meals we had there were also very good. It is wise to look for this place when you come to Trinidad. But ask for one of the rooms upstairs.
How was your room?: we had all the three rooms and the ones upstairs were very good.
