Hostal Elio

My review: My stay at Elio's casa was superb. I met him at the bus station and his friend rode me to his place just close by. Elio and his family made me feel at home straight away and the rest of my stay in Trinidad went very well. Elio can organize snorkeling and horse trekking and just about any other trip you would like to do. And at the end of the day I was cooked some great food to help re-energize, before going to the casa de la musica for some salsa dancing and live music. If you're not done by midnight, ask Elio to take you to the cave. You can party there till the morning. Good times.

How was your room?: My room was excellent. It was very large and very clean with ensuite bathroom and a fridge. Couldn't ask for more.
How was the food they offer?: Food was exceptional. Always plenty on offer. Bread, beans, fruit, and something dfifferent from pork to shrimp to lobster. Everything was cooked very well.
Other services they offer: They will arrange just about anything for you. Elio knows everyone in town and he can often contact a friend to help you out with whatever you need.
Other comments: My time at Elio's was so good I didn't want to leave. They made me feel right at home and I intend to go back every year.

Hostal Elio

My review: I've found review on this casa in some message board, contacted Elio via email and made a
reservation beforehand. casa is very good, we didn't regret it.
breakfasts and dinners are better then in restaurants. lobsters are perfect!
a beautiful view of mountains from the terrace and balcony.
There is internet here! the connection is very slow, but anyway it is enough
to check email and send messages.

Casa Hostal Elio

My review: I arrived at Elio's sort of by luck since the casa I was going to stay at did not have room and asked him to meet me at the Viazul station. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Trinidad now. The house is very nice, and is partly run by his family which are very kind and fun to talk to. The food was five-star; I just mentioned to Elio what I wanted to eat before heading out to explore for the day and it was waiting for me when I got home. While in Trinidad, I wanted to go diving and on a horseback excursion. Elio made it happen. One of the highlights of my trip is when I went into the Valle de Los Ingenios with Francisco. Not only were his horses the best taken care of that I saw, but he was incredibly knowledgeable about all things flora and fauna, as well as the local history. My only regret was not being able to spend more time in Trinidad, but I will be back next year. Elio, I look forward to seeing you all again.

How was your room?: The room was very comfortable. It had an in-suite bathroom and air-conditioning, though I did not use the latter.
How was the food they offer?: The food was exceptional, some of the best I had in Cuba and elsewhere for that matter.
Other services they offer: Elio can get you in touch with tour guides or transportation to nearby locations. He also knows lots of people that run casas in other cities.

Casa Elio Ramos

My review: Very nice house with rooms recently refurbished. Elio and his sister are amazing hosts and they give you all the informations needed to make your holiday perfect.
Elio speaks perfect English and Italian.
It's a quiet and welcoming place to relax but when I wanted to go out at night Elio showed me the best places to go.

Hostal Elio

My review: I spent 4 days in Hostal Elio last year and it was wanderful. The house is very good situed to visit the city and Elio was a perfect host.
We enjoyed a lot and I recomended this place a everyone.

Hostal Elio

My review: If you want to live the best of Cuba Elio is a must. In Trinidad you will not find anything better. Cleanliness, honesty and above all quality of the food, the service and the people you will meet. The Elio's family is like yours and you will pass a beautiful holiday without having to worry about anything. Breakfast and dinner are very good, thanks to the legendary chef Ranier. The products that you will eat will always be the first choice, not as many restaurants for which, unfortunately, is not the same. Elio is an institution in Trinidad, he knows everyone and everyone respects him. Thanks to him we were able to spend a holiday in cheerfulness and happiness. The decor is sophisticated and the house is one of the largest and most beautiful in Trinidad. 10 days at this home have been really wonderful for us, also because Elio is a person of high cultural level and he is able to get first-hand what it means to be Cuban! Basically has become for us a brother, do not miss the opportunity to go to him!

Casa Hostal Elio

My review: I met Elio at the bus station when the Casa that I reserved did not come and pick us up. Elio offered us a good price and once we saw his quarters, we said yes. We had no idea what a good move that was. The casa was very nice. It was private, in a separate area, with a private bath, refrigerator, fan and air conditioner. We had our own private terrace and there was a rooftop deck where you could view the entire town.

I am not sure he offers this service to everyone, but Elio took us on a oersonally guided tour of the town. (He speaks several languages fluently.) His tour was informative about the history, social millieu, and art scene. He even shopped at vendors for the vegetables used in our dinner that night. He is a wonderful host and a kind and generous person. His family runs the Casa with the assistance of his mother, sister and brother. They are the most wonderful people, who make you feel welcome and at home.

Elio's brother is the chef. The food was wonderful. Everything was fresh and delicious. The first night, I had lobster, and my husband had a fantastic shrimp dish. The next night, we were served the best vegetable soup I have ever had. All of the food was healthy and well prepared. There was an abundance of fresh fruit at each meal and lots of good vegetables. At breakfast, there was freshly prepared coffee and "Just squeezed" juice. Each day there was a different juice, like Mango, Pineapple, Guava, etc. The food was great.

Elio makes every effort to assure that your stay is pleasant. He arranged a tour guided by Lionel, in a horse-drawn carriage. If we needed a bike-taxi, he called Nelson. Mayra, his sister, did our laundry. It was like heaven!!!

In the room, we had reliable hot water for showers, bottled water in the fridge, clean linens and total privacy. There was a lock on the door to secure your belongings. He showed us the internet service that was one block away, from which we could send e-mails to our family.

Hostal Elio

My review: I had met Elio, the owner of the hostal, previously in the streets of Trinidad.
He is the most sympatatic man, speaks french, english, ilatlian and spanish. he is also a great salsa dancer and so funny.....
I decided the following year, to stay at his casa partiular I had previously visited.
I really enjoyed the center of town, so near to all the action.
My room was clean,and practical. bathroom attacched with shower and warm water every day. The breakfast was very good as well as dinner.
I enjoyed the terrace for fresh air and relaxing.
You can ask Elio for anything, he will do everything to please his guests.

I recommand Elio, for a marvelous stay in trinidad

Hostal Elio

My review: Trinidad is a charming place that will enchant you with its beautiful sandy beaches, delightful old town centre and most of all its music and people's joy of living. If you choose to spend some time here I can recommend Hostal Elio as an excellent choice.
I spent 1 week and the experience was very satisfying and relaxing, no inconvenience at all, all was simply perfect.
Thanks to Elio, the host, your stay will be comfortable and he will be always available in case of need.
