Casa El Tulipan is geweldig om te verblijven. Net iets luxer dan de andere Casas. Het is een appartementje met eigen opgang, dat geeft meer privacy. Het mooi grote terras met hangmat is een heerlijke plek om een glaasje te drinken. Het appartement is gezellig ingericht, een beetje lounge stijl. Hollandse Marga heeft er iets gezelligs van gemaakt. Haar Cubaanse man Bernardo helpt je met alles wat je over Cuba wilt weten. Als je wilt is er elke ochtend een heerlijk ontbijt voor 5 cuc. Ook kan je met ze mee voor een gezellige Cubaanse muziekavond in de Casa la Trova!! Salsalessen kunnen ook geregeld worden. Het appartement ligt gunstig tenopzichte van het oude centrum. Als je hier bent geweest, wil je niets anders meer!,

Me and Els had a wonderfull stay in the Casa of Marga & Bernardo. The appartment is cosy and so is the Terrace with a lot of plants. We had breakfast every morning on the Terrace. with fresh fruit eggs, bread, tomatoes with homemade pesto, cuban coffee, fruit juice etc etc.... 

There is a double bed and a sleepingcouche, so if you are not a couple it is very convenient. You can see the Cuban life pass by. Donkeycars, old vehicals, people who swap the street or sell stuff and blow their whistle, Bike taxies; it is like a movie 

...and around the corner you walk in the mainstreet to the famous stairs where there is music everywhere. Musicians from all over Cuba come to this wonderful city to perform. And if you are fed up with all that music (which I cannot believe) you can go into the wild to the Sierra del Escambray. Or eat Langoste at Playa Ancun. Trinidad has everything and your host can advise you about all these trips.

How was your room?: The room was well equiped with a bathroom and enough space to hang your clothes and place for your suitcase

How was the food they offer?: The breakfast was good. One time we cooked together

We had a fantastic stay at Casa El Tulian. After traveling around Cuba we arrived in Trinidad during a huge cloudburst that turned the sloping streets into rivers. We were welcomed by Marga and Barnardo in their house where we drank a glass of rum to dry. When we went through our own entrance to our apartment we were surprised by the size of the terrace and the unique view of the streets of Trinidad. The apartment is certainly spacious but also cozy and feels homely and is equipped with all conveniences such as 2 fans, an AC and to our surprise a fully stocked fridge with wine, beer, soda and water. The next morning, Bernardo served up the delicious and extensive breakfast on the terrace where we asked him about the possibilities to visit the Toppes de Callantes mountains. He arranged for us a 4 wheel drive taxi for the next day with a professional guide, a friendly woman who spoke very well English. When we came back from a day at the beautiful beach of Trinidad we got sick from a under-cooked hamburger we ate there, but when Marga learned about that she cooked us a homemade chicken soup! We had a great time in Trinidad, a beautiful place of its own with many tourist options such as the mountains and the beach, but what made our stay absolutely wonderful was the warm hospitality of the hosts Marga and Bernardo. We would will definitely stay at Casa el Tulipan again if we would visit Trinidad again!

How was your room?: The apartment is spacious and fully equipped, but cozy with a good AC. We loved the great roof terrace with its unique views (and sounds) of Trinidad.

How was the food they offer?: They served a delicious and extensive breakfast

Really comfortable and clean casa with the most lovely view from the (very big and spacious!) private rooftop terrace!!! It was a great pleasure to stay with awesome and lovely hosts Bernardo & Marga! Breakfast was served every morning at our preferred time, and Bernardo & Marga were always happy to help us book tours, taxis and to give us a lot of good tips for restaurants, bars and clubs. Definitely would recommend El Tulipan for a super relaxed stay in Trinidad!!!

How was your room?: Clean, spacious and with A/C and fan!

How was the food they offer?: Delicious breakfast was included!

Other services they offer: If you buy a Etecsa WiFi card, you can access internet just on the private rooftop bar, awesome!

Casa el Tulipan was by far the best casa particular we stayed at in Cuba! The house is walk distance from the city center, bars, and restaurants. The rooms are very nice, cozy and spotless with a beautiful terrace where you can see the city from. The rooms have a little fridge with cold drinks available and even a small kitchen if you want to cook. You also have the option to include breakfast, which I do recommend as it is very affordable, abundant and delicious! Marga and Bernando are super friendly and helpful hosts, they made us feel very welcome even before we got there. Very quick responses and gave us all the goods tips of what to do and where to go which took the whole experience to a new local level! They will help you to arrange transportation and tours if needed. Best place to stay and definitely will come back!

How was your room?: Very comfortable and clean

How was the food they offer?: Delicious and abundant, loved the breakfasts there!

Other services they offer: They have WIFI network available, you can buy the internet cards in the city center and connect at the house. Fridge with cold drinks always available Laundry service

Other comments: Marga and Bernardo are great guides, they will provide incredible tips to experience the city to the most.

We loved our stay at Casa el Tulipán! Marga and Bernardo are brilliant hosts, they are so friendly and made us feel so welcome. They also had lots of information about the local area, plus cold drinks available in the room which was a really useful touch. The Casa is located a short walk from the main centre so a perfect location for sightseeing and getting to restaurants/bars etc. The Casa is really spacious and even has a small kitchenette if you wanted to prepare food/drinks at home. Bernardo served us an amazing breakfast on the terrace each morning, the perfect way to start the day! We would definitely recommend Casa el Tulipan to anyone visiting Trinidad!

How was your room?: The room was really spacious, clean and had great AC! Everything that we needed.

How was the food they offer?: Breakfast was incredible, we loved eating on the terrace each morning.

Other comments: Marga and Bernardo are just so friendly, their warmth made us feel so welcome for a brilliant stay in Trinidad!

Marga and Bernardo are fantastic host and very charming. I had such a wonderful time with them. Their El Tulipan apartment is a gem in the centre of Trinidad. It's located in a local safe neighbourhood only a few minutes away from all the sights. The apartment is spotless clean and very well equiped with everything you might ask for. The highligh is the beautiful huge terrace with enough shade on hot days. I very much enjoyed sitting there and observing Cuban daily life while sipping a glas of wine. I had the whole upper floor to myself and when I felt like chatting I just went downstairs to see Marga and Bernado. They are such a friendly couple always ready to give some inside advice for restaurants, tours and whatever I was interested in. One evening they even invited me to come along to a lovely local music bar. It was very special place I wouldn't have found on my own. I spent nearly a week with them and it was very hard leaving in the end because they always made me feel like being at home. A very unique experience I'll never forget. Dear Marga and Bernardo thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. Looking forward to meet you again one day. PS. if you feel like improving your Spanish then ask Marga to connect you with her friend Carmen. She is a former profesora from Trinidad University. She is not only an exceptional teacher but also knows all about Trinidad and it's history. Walking with her around in Trinidad is a special experience you shouldn't miss. These were the best Spanish lessons I ever had!

Big two rooms plus bathroom and kitchen apartment with own door from the street was very clean and the terrace, where the breakfast is served, is so nice. Owners are extremely nice and helpful, and can arrange you everything and give tips in English.

Bernardo and Marga are very friendly and helpful. Because they speak also Dutch, we had good conversations and learned a lot about Cuba and Trinidad (nice places to go, to eat, listen to music, etc). They arranged for our sons another casa by her neighbours at the other side of the street (we could talk with each other from the balcony) and a garage to park the car safely. The house is nearby the center, on the first floor with a balcony and a nice overview over the street. We had a lot of room and a good bed. We loved the delicious breakfast. The next time in Trinidad we certainly stays again at El Tulipan with Bernardo and Marga! We recommend the casa! And Trinidad is very nice!

How was your room?: A good casa with two rooms, enough space, good bed and there is also a kitchen and a nice balcony

How was the food they offer?: They offered a very good breakfast

Other services they offer: They offered a lot of information about Trinidad and activities in the neighbourhood. There are books to read, DVD's and games to play. And arranged a parking place for the car.

Other comments: Marga and Bernardo are very nice, friendly people.

In januari 2019 hebben we vier dagen kunnen genieten van Casa El Tulipan in Trinidad. Wat een fijne ervaring was dat! Je hebt een volledig zelfstandige etage met een slaapkamer, kleine maar gezellige woonkamer, keuken en douche. Maar het allerfijnste was het grote terras met aan de ene kant uitzicht op een grote tuin met bananenbomen en aan de andere kant uitzicht op een straat. Dat laatste geeft trouwens wel wat lawaai, maar wij hebben veel plezier beleefd van het zicht op dit straatleven waar werkelijk van alles voorbij komt. Gelukkig hadden we 4 dagen de tijd, want het kostte ons moeite om van onze schommelstoelen op het terras op te staan. Maar Trinidad is ook erg de moeite waard! How was your room?: Goed en gezellig ongericht. Fijn bed.

How was the food they offer?: Het ontbijt was iedere ochtend een feestje. Heerlijk en uitgebreid

Other services they offer: We hebben gebruik gemaakt van verschillende faciliteiten. Een gevulde ijskast met bier en water was erg handig. We hebben veel goede adviezen gekregen en ze hebben veel voor ons geregeld zoals: - een prachtige tocht in de bergen met een uitstekende gids - een goed restaurant waar we heerlijk hebben gegeten - volgende casa en vervoer etc.

We stayed here last October and enjoyed a few wonderful days with Bernado and Mara. The apartment is well located for central Trinidad and works exceptionally well having a bedroom, kitchen area, sitting room with sofa bed and large balcony with furniture. The Bernado and Mara are the most incredible of hosts, providing everything we needed and always available to provide advice or information. The apartment is next to a fairly busy road but it wasn't an issue for sleeping. You're in the city and this is real Cuban life, or as close as you can find as a tourist. I cannot think of anything negative about our stay and we left with many very happy memories.
