Villa Caricia
My review: Caricia, her husband Roque and her son Dr. Sergio were all fantastic hosts! We had a room and bathroom separate from the main part of the house, along with a beautiful porch to eat out on. Unlike most of the casa in Vinales, our room was a ways back from the street, which was nice.
We had breakfast and dinner at the casa most nights and Caricia's food was delicious, not to mention plentiful (Caricia won't let you go hungry!). We loved the agricultural feel of the town and of the casa - there were chickens pecking around and lots of native birds flying around the flowering plants in the garden.
Caricia and Roque don't speak much English and we spoke very little Spanish but they were great about still trying to communicate with us, and made every effort to understand us and make sure we were happy and content. Dr. Sergio doesn't live here, but he came by every day to chat and make sure all was well.
Roque arranged a 5-6 hour tour by horseback for us that included the tobacco fields (where you could purchase hand-rolled cigars), a coffee plantation, a walk through a cave, a visit to a small lake, among other things that cost 25 CUC and was awesome!
How was your room?: Clean, comfortable and private.
How was the food they offer?: Incredible!

Villa Caricia
My review: A great, safe place to stay in Vinales. The owners Caricia and Roque are wonderful hosts. They were very kind and friendly to our two teenage kids, who in turn bonded with Caricia and Roque. Caricia and Roque don't speak English, but their son is a medical doctor (otolaryngologist) at a paediatric hospital in Pinar del Rio and he is only a phone call away.
Our taxi to Varadero arrived several hours late. Despite the fact that we had already "checked out" earlier in the day, they allowed us to leave our luggage there securely, use their washroom facilities any time and most importantly allowed us to stay at their premise late into the night while we awaited the arrival of our taxi. Sergio even helped find out when the taxi was arriving and to provide them also with directions. One simply could not ask for more caring hosts and better hospitality.
About the food at the Casa. We are a family of fish eaters. However I am surprised to say that the meal at the Casa was among the best we had in Cuba. We took the red snapper which was very flavour-able and deep fried. The soup was excellent, as was the other appetizers and the rice. Highly recommended to eat at the Casa. I can't stress how good this particular meal was for us. Breakfast was also good and the local fruits in Vinales are of very good quality.
Finally, we found the rooms to be clean and well serviced. Nothing special here. Overall, very good value for the money.

Casa Caricia
My review: Both Roque and his wife Caridad make you feel "at home" from the moment you arrive. This older couple do spend their entire day working for their guests' comfort and enjoyment. Casa Caricia is located at the end of a private lane and is very quiet
Food is simple but tasty and portions are more than generous. Breakfast is simple but fresh and full of flavour. Lunch and/or dinner are available upon request. Laundry service is also available and quite reasonable.
I had private access to my room from the outside terrace. If you need it, a/c is just a switch away. Furniture is limited to the mere basics but I enjoyed a double bed with all blankets I wanted -nights may turned to be on the cool side in January. Dona Caricia, always concerned about my wellbeing, insisted in changing my towels quite often under the pretext they couldn't get dry fast enough!
My bathroom was also private and I had all the hot water I wanted for my showers. As is the case of most casas particulares, light bulbs are weak. Bring your own little light if you read in bed.
Their son Sergio, a very friendly chap himself, usually arrives in the early evening after a long day taking care of his patients. He speaks English and is quite helpful if you need guidance as to what the region can offer.
I certainly enjoyed my week with this family and their house will again be my address the next time I return to Vinales.
How was your room?: Large Clean
How was the food they offer?: Very good/varied/abundant

Casa Villa Caricia, Vinales
How was your room?: Une chamber climatisee, tres agreeable avec une belle sale de bain.
