Casa Mary y Miguel
My review: Mary & Miguel were incredibly helpful and warm hosts. We were probably annoying with all our questions and with as much as we hung around their wonderful cafe. Many of their family members work in the cafe and are equally as friendly. Seeing as my spanish is rather pathetic, I am especially grateful for the excellent English of one of their sons Joao. He recommended us places to eat, gave us directions, and even helped us find medicine when I got sick.
Cafe Arcangel (which is attached to the casa) has a great atmosphere and is a very relaxing place to grab breakfast and prepare your day. At night, they make a mean Irish coffee and super ham & cheese sandwiches.
We loved this place so much, we ended up changing our plans to stay longer. Miguel made sure we were taken care of, and when he didn't have a room available, set us up with his friend a block away for the rest of the nights.
Nothing but love for Mary & Miguel (and family).
How was your room?: We stayed in 2 different rooms, and both were equally as clean and comfortable. Both equipped with (incredibly powerful) air conditioners, private bathrooms, (scalding) hot water, and TV (sometimes even with english programming!).
How was the food they offer?: The food is offered via their Cafe Arcangel at the front of the building. The breakfasts are affordable, filling, and comforting (bacon, eggs, toast, juice, etc). They make great coffee and sandwiches as well. We drank amazing Irish coffees practically every night, followed by us cluelessly loitering until after closing time.

Casa Mary y Miguel
This is my second visit to Casa Mary y Miguel in Havana. The family was so nice and helped me getreservations with friends in Trinidad and Baracoa other other points east. Food was incredible, every night Miguel would ask me what I wanted to eat and the next day Mary prepared it perfectly. Neighborhood was very safe, not noisy like another place I stayed at in the Old City. They now have a new Cafe Arcangel, a cute coffee bar next store, very convenient with good coffee and lots of atmosphere.
How was your room?: Recently remodeled, comfortable and very clean with private bath, WITH LOTS OF HOT WATER!
How was the food the offer?: Perfect, I'm a picky eater and they made everything to my special order. |

Casa Mary y Miguel
I really love this casa and want to recommend everyone who is looking for casa in Havana.
First, the room is comfortable and Mary's food is amazing. The taste is good and you won't be disappointed with her Cuba cuisine. Family is so sweet.
Everyone is so nice and very thoughtful. They will help you whenever you need any help. Tourist will be their family during stay.
And the location is perfect. It's very close to Malecon and Old Havana. Since it's located in center, it's very convenient to move, too.
I miss the time with them. When I go to Cuba, I will definitely stay there again

How was your room?: It was airconditioned, roomy, comfortable. And the bathroom is private with tub.
How was the food they offer?: very satisfying. I had tea, bread and fruit for breakfast, And I was served excellent Cuban cuisin for dinner
