Casa Manuel de Armas
My review: Amazing casa, a top place to stay in Havana. Super clean with delicious breakfast including freshly squeezed juice. The balcony has nice views across the city. Walking distance to everything. Highly recommended.
Manuel can give you a lot of recommendations for restaurants, bars and places to go. Also he will be happy to tell you about the people and life in Cuba.
Definitely a place to come back!

My review: Manuel was very welcoming to me,and made me feel very comfortable.
He is a charming host and will help you out with anything you need.

How was your room?: Room was perfect, - a double en suite with safe, and cd player.
How was the food they offer?: Manuel cooked fresh omlette and juice, - food was fine.
Other services they offer: Manuel will help you find accommadtion in other areas, and will book it over the phone for you. Manuel is happy for you to leave any luggage you don't want to travel with, and can leave it at the casa free of charge unitl your next return.
Other comments: Manuel is a very friendly host, and his casa is really comfortable,and in a cool area of Havana, - only 5 minutes from Casa del la musica. Perfect. !!

My review: Excellent place to stay in Habana. I was hesitant to stay in a casa at first, because I had experience only with hotels and I appreciated the privacy that hotels provide.
I was wrong. Staying at Manuel's was the best decision I made. He is an excellent host and now an excellent friend. He will make sure that you have the time of your life in Habana. He'll take you out and show you around. He will recommend restaurants, and places to go. He will give advise and warn you about scams. He'll arrange trips for you. He is devoted to his guests.

How was your room?: The room was excellent. Very big and clean. Windows on two different walls, very good ventilation. Air conditioning, fan and direct access to a private bathroom. Very big and comfortable bed. Everyday Manuel will clean and do the room/bathroom for you.
You have your own keys which allows for privacy, but you will want to spend time with Manuel and the other guests on the balcony or in the living room.
A+++
How was the food they offer?: Excellent. Plenty of food. Great variety: coffee, fruit, juices, omelette, sausage, etc.
Other services they offer: Manuel will arrange trips, tours, recommend restaurants, show you around, etc.
Other comments: Next time I go to Habana I will 100% stay at Manuel's, and I will arrange my trip according to his availability if needed to.
After Cuba I spent two nights at a five star resort in the Cayman Islands while transiting back to the United States. I wanted to spend some time in the Cayman Islands since I had to transit through anyway. Had I known how great Manuel's place was I would have spent two more nights in Habana instead of the Cayman Islands.

Casa Manuel de Armas
My review: I stayed with a friend for two weeks at Manuel's casa. We both enjoyed being there; Manuel is a good host and makes a perfect breakfast(with every day a little surprise).He cleans the rooms, the bathroom and changes your sheets. And for two women: that's holiday!
We loved the balcony and the little kitchen were you can cook your own dinner.
Also the neigbourhood is very nice. Real Habana.The people are friendly and you feel save there,even at night.It is not too far away from the centre and the malecon. For us it was a perfect place with a perfect host!

How was your room?: The rooms are big and very clean. There is a safe in each room. I used the bathroom together with my friend and that was no problem for us.

My review: I have just returned from 5 nights in Cuba. This was our first trip to Cuba so I must say that we were a bit appehensive.Our flight arrived into the airport after midnight which meant that we arrived into Havana at about 2.00 am in the morning. Havana is not the best kept of cities and at 2.00 in the morning can be quite daunting.
Manuel greeted us as we exited the taxi and carried us upstairs to what I must say was a very comfortable apartment. There were the 5 locks that I had read about in the previous reviews, the place was clean and the A.C. in the bedroom worked well as it was very hot in June and it was very much needed.
Manuel made us so at home that we felt we were staying with family,he gave us a true understanding of the warmth and resiliance of the Cuban people. It was not long before we were venturing out and walking the streets at much later times than the 2.00 am. He prepared Breakfast for us daily and it was tasty and plentiful. The apartment was well kept and maintained at all times during our stay.
Manuel is Gay friendly and we will be returning to Cuba again and we will be staying with Manuel.

My review: The appartment is located in the very heart of central Habana in a really authentic neighbourhoud. In this way you can feel the real cuban life and see how cubans live day by day. Although at first sight the neighbourhood may look disturbing, it is actually very safe and you get used to it in no time. In addition Manuel's place has a safety deposit box and two doors, making it very secure. The appartment is nice and clean, not extremely luxurious but remember that this is Cuba and having a flatscreen TV in the living-room and TV with a DVD player in you own room is definitely above the average. Actually you don't need a TV at all because Havana is for sure not a place where you would choose to stay home in front of the TV. The city is vibrant with life awaiting to be explored and alm! ost everything is within a walking distance from Manuel's place. Malecon is 3 or 4 blocks away, so is Casa de Musica. Parque central is 5 and the Capitolio is 10 minutes away on foot. You can walk to Hotel Nacional and Hotel Habana Libre in 15/20 minutes and you can get there in less than 5 minutes with a bicycle taxi for only 2 CUC. Manuel is a very nice person and a good host. He doesn't speak English but somehow we managed to understand each other and did not have much difficulties communicating. He is always willing to help and give you directions and advices and I suggest you follow them because the man knows how things are going in Cuba. In addition he's the only one that gave us welcome presents during our 2 week stay in Cuba. He also provided us with a list of recommended casas in other cities and would gladly arrange all your reservations in case you need such. I deffinitely recommend the place for a true authentic cuban feeling.

My review: Manuel does a great job with his casa and keeps it super clean and comfortable. Also makes a very nice breakfast. The main bedroom has a big bathroom with tub and shower ... he provides room service daily. Real close to Casa de Musica, Parque Central and the Melacon ... great location amongst the Cuban people. Felt very safe in the neighborhood well after dark.

Review
A very good location. The house is very safe. I recommend that when you reserve, you make sure that you get the "master bedroom" with the promise of being able to use the adjoining bath. I ended up for the first several days with the other bedroom and the necessity to use the bathroom in the kitchen. Not very pleasant.
If you don't know Cuba very well, you should take let Manuel prepare you breakfast. He is charging you more than he should but it's not much more. Manuel is a businessman and will try to sell you cigars, dance lessons, whatever. Again, if you don't know Habana, you can do worse.

Review
We spent 5 nights in total with Manuel, 2 at the start and 3 at the end. Manuel was by far our favourite casa host! we speak very little spanish and that was no issue for Manuel. he gave us contacts for casa's all over Cuba and they were all fantastic.
The apartment in Havana is located in Centro Havana which is a great location to get all over the city. Only minutes from the seaside with lots of bars and restaurants, and 10 minutes from Havana Veija where there is everything you need.
The apartment is extremely safe and secure, and with a safe in the room it means you never have to worry about your passport or money. There is a lovely balcony and the breakfast is fantastic!
If i went back to Cuba i would definately stay with Manuel again.
