Casa Manuel de Armas
Review
Manuel's is a great place to stay in Habana. It's walking distance from the old town and the Malecon so it's in a really handy location and because it's in Centro, you get to see more of real Habana rather than just the tourist spots. The balcony is fantastic and you can sit watching the world go by from up there. The best thing about Manuel's casa is Manuel himself. He was a great host. We left for a few days at the beach and he arranged the transport and accommodation for us. Coming back to Manuel's was like coming home. He's very safety conscious: there is a safe in the room and the apartment is very secure. Manuel doesn't live there so you can come and go as you please without feeling like you're disturbing anyone when you get in after a night but he's always there cooking up a g! reat breakfast in the morning. Manuel couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming - like having a Cuban dad - and I'd highly recommend staying here. If I go back to Cuba I'd definitely stay here again.

Casa Manuel de Armas
Review
Manuel was a fantastic host and this is a great casa. Really well located in Havana Centro, you feel that you are part of real Cuban life, yet the casa is modern, comfortable and very safe. From the balcony you can sit in the rocking chairs and read or just lean over the railings and watch the world go by as everyone else on the street does the same. Manuel is incredibly friendly and helpful and is also very strong on security. With our valuables in the safe in the wardrobe we counted that there were 5 locked doors with different keys between them and the outside world! His arrival speech on how to deal with the touts in Havana was helpful in getting us straight on our feet and avoiding the feeling of being naive tourists. He also gave us a long list of his contacts in other casas ar! ound Cuba which we used extensively on our onward travels and they were all excellent. Breakfast is large and fresh and the living room and tv were perfect for watching the World Cup! Finally, possibly the most appealing part of the casa (apart from Manuel himself of course) is that the two rooms are between them their own apartment. This means you have your own keys to come and go as you want without having to knock on the door waking up owners in the middle of the night. This makes for a great feeling of independence and relaxation. All in all - excellent.
Casa specifics: Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Hidden gem, Safe, Patio
Amenities: TV, Safety box, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Balcony, Breakfast service, Kingsize bed, Bathroom with tub, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Comfortable, spacious and very safe.
How was the food they offer?: Manuel's breakfast was great with tortilla, fruit, juice/smoothie, bread, and various other bits every day.
Other services they offer: Safety is Manuel's middle name. Aside from the many locks to get into the house and room and the combination lock safe, he also had lots of advice for staying safe on the streets of Havana; a really useful leg up for our first day in the city. Also, Manuel has lots of excellent contacts in cities around Cuba.

Review
Manuel was a really superb host, very friendly even though he doesn't speak much English.
The casa was spacious, very comfortable and always clean. Had a very spacious bedroom and private bathroom, a balcony and a very nice television. There were always drinks in the fridge, along with some rum and cigars.
Casa style: Fantastic hosts, Comfertable, Hidden gem, Safe
Amenities: TV, In room safety box, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Laundry service, Balcony, Ceiling fan
How was your room?: Very spacious, I had a double bed to myself, with lots of wardrobe space. Had a working fan and air conditioning. Very clean.
How was the food the offer?: Breakfast was always very good and filling. Manuel could always give a tip for somewhere cheap to eat - 2 houses away from his casa, there was a good paladar, where a large meal (steak, rice etc.) might cost US$1 or less.
Other services they offer: Map, Taxi, organise dance classes.
Other comments: Manuel was a really excellent host, a very friendly guy.

Casa Manuel de Armas
The casa is excellent. A very close location to the center of the city but nevertheless in a real-cuban environment. Manuel is a very pleasant casa-owner. As he does not live in the casa you feel like having your own private appartment where you can use all facilities. The best is that Manuel helps you to organize your whole trip. He organized us casas is other cities in Cuba that very highly-recommendable as well. Therefore, I recommend his casa as an reliable and excellent starting point for your holidays

Casa Manuel De Armas
Very well situated for Habana Vieja, Malecon and Copellia. Also to see some Habana street life.
Manuel was very efficient and very helpful. Between him and Pototo all our accommodation in casa particulares across Cuba over 2 weeks were arranged.
The accommodation itself was very neat and clean and the balcony is lovely.
Breakfast was always on time and plentiful. I especially enjoyed the fruit and coffee
Casa style: Comfertable, Cozy, Charming, Safe
Amenities: TV, In room safety box, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Minibar, Balcony, Ceiling fan
How was your room?: I only ticked what was applicable to us above.
The room was of good size and special provision was made for Matthew our son.
The rooms are exceptionally clean. Decor is a matter of taste so it would be unfair to comment to much about that! There is provision made for storage in cupboards and drawers if required.
Remember that there is a steep charge for things taken out of the fridge/mini bar that you don\'t replace.
How was the food the offer?: Breakfast was great! I especially loved the fruit and coffee. My husband really liked the fresh fruit juice. Well presented and plentiful.
Other services they offer: Manuel very kindly allowed us to leave our baggage at the apartment until the taxi collected us late afternoon. He also gave us a key to get back into the apartment and have a shower before going off to the aiport - which was really neede as I got stuck to one of the roads in Centro!!
Other comments: Thanks Manuel for all your help and advice

Manuel de Armas
Placed on the 3rd floor of a typical Havanese building (no lift) Manuel rents two separate rooms. The one we stayed in was the "master" bedroom with en suite bathroom (bathtub + shower + lavatory); the other had a shower and lavatory on the other side of a corridor. The two parties share a dining/living room, a big flatscreen tv and a nice balcony with flowers and rocking chairs. Manuel will help you solve any problem you might have e.g. book casas ahead or fix transport. He doesn't speak English, but is a resourceful person with many contacts. We found the street noise rather disturbing at times, but on the other hand enjoyed being right in the heart of Habana.
Casa style: No frills, Safe

Manuel d'Armas
We stayed 3 nights at Manuel's place arriving in La Habana. He gave us plenty of advise on what to do where to go and how to behave in la Habana to avoid trouble.
It was like having a father there !!!
The breakfeast he cooked us every morning were delicious plenty of fresh fruits and eggs The rooms are super clean and with plenty of space, the bathroom is the same.
The balcony is awesome you feel like a real cuban bending over and watching the life in the streets !

¡Gracias Manuel!
