Lovely casa particular in Old Havana. Colonial casa built in the early last century with high ceilings, it used to be a whorehouse some decades ago :). Comfortable and safe. Casa Habana has several rooms to rent, with private bathroom for each room with 24 hours a day hot water. All rooms have air conditioning, telephone, electrical outlet of 110 - 220V, refrigerator and a deposit safe. The bedrooms are located at a external outside corridor to the rest of the casa. The terrace of the casa particular is cool and has nice views over Old Havana to the cathedral, the fortress of La Cabaña and El Morro, Church, Museum of the Revolutionl.
Yhey speak English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Casa Habana

My review: The main room pictured on the Internet is lovely. The guest rooms are fire traps. They have not figured out how to vent the toilets. By afternoon, our room smelled like a sewar. Leo the manager was extremely helpful and did a good job. But on the first night, we got totally hosed on the cost of a mediocre meal on the roof terrace. Also someone should note that if you are a senior, you must be aware that you will have to climb 3 sets of very scary stairs with no handrail---very easy to fall and crack your head on marble. Other than that, the staff was great. The breakfast eggs were cooked in oil rather than butter, but they did their best. They did not provide any bar soap; the hand towels were clean but ancient rags, and toilet paper was in very short supply. We were very lucky to have hot running water, which some large hotels don't have. It was fun, and an experience to stay in what we figured was a former whore house.

How was your room?: see above; not sure that I entirely trusted the maids, as things went missing, but beds were comfortable.
How was the food they offer?: repetitive, with great coffee
Other services they offer: Leo the manager is fantastic, and did a great job of arranging tours, etc.
Other comments: Who is Emilio, the owner? Does he really exist, or is he simply the state government. We never saw him, although we were told he lived on the top floor, which we did not believe for a minute.
