Casa Aportela
My review: We start our holiday in casa Aportela. Aurelio picked us up from the airport. The appartment is perfect, littel kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom.
Alicia and Aurelio are lovely people. And the breakfast from Aurelio is the best!
At the end of our holiday we stayed there again for 2 nights and it feels like coming home.

My review: The house is great. Is the best place I´ve been in Cuba. You feel as at home because Alicia and Aurelio make you feel like part of their family.

Casa Aportela
My review: Fantastic casa with complete privacy. Location is perfect, five-minute walk to the Malecon and between the cramped and tourist-filled Habana Vieja and the more modern streets of Vedado. You really feel like you are living in a typical Habanero neighbourhood. Alicia and Aurelio are real gems—Alicia is so jolly and caring, and Aurelio has a great knowledge of international football (soccer) which made me happy. I felt completely at ease here, and gave them my valuables (passport/money etc) to look after in the knowledge that they were completely safe. Food was excellent and Aurelio has an interesting assortment of spices and hot sauces in the fridge. They also have a great guy, Nelson, to take you back to the airport if you want.

How was your room?: Room was very spacious, very comfortable and huge closet for storing clothes. There is both an air-conditioner in the room and a small oscillating fan. There is also a separate living room and a full kitchen with a fridge. It's basically an entirely separate flat/apartment with a door that connects to their flat/apartment.
How was the food they offer?: Food was good, and I am a vegetarian. Ask them to make malanga (it's a root vegetable, similar to yam I think)--they prepare it with butter and garlic and it's so yummy.
Other services they offer: Apart from calling the taxi guy Nelson, none that I can think of.
Other comments: Really welcoming, warm couple with a great place.

My review: i am a custumer at Alicia s place since 10 years, visiting Havana 2 or 3 times a year, and each time, it is the same warm welcome from Alicia and Aurelio, it is like a family, knowing tht i feel secure, in a very charming and comfortable apart, close to touristic places in a true cuban atmosphere, will be back at the end of september, once more.

Casa Aportela
My review: The owners of the Casa Aportela were totally helpul, full of kindness with me, as I was in late the date of my arrival. As my luggage was lost for a few days, they help me with clothes and everything that I need during my vacations. The appartment was very clean, well situated in the city and the breakfast were gorgeous! All the family was nice and very respecful of my privacy. I recommand this house to everybody who want to stay a little bit in the city with all the accomodations and the independancy required!

My review: I don't really know how to make these kinds of reviews..so I'm just going to tell you how I would tell my daughters.
My flight was delayed, and Alicia and Aurelio called the airport several times to find out how I was doing and if I got there safely. Then when I finally got to the house Aurelio was waiting downstairs to meet me. The whole time I was there, they treated me like family. Making me feel less homesick than my previous visit in which i was staying at a hotel.
I enjoyed my stay very much..and i hope you do too!

Great casa with great hosts! The best experience we had in Cuba. Alicia and Aurelio were very nice - very helpful and kind. Apartment is very clean and cosy - with all service you need. I highly recommend his casa.

Casa Aportela
This is the best place I've been in Cuba. Since 2004 I'm going there and always I feel like at home. It is an independent place but at the same time you are close to the cuban people. You may share with the host's family and at the moment be alone. Also, the building is very nice. Alicia and Aurelio are very kind and always are ready to help you, they are fantastic.

How was your room?: The room is beautiful. It is spacious and very comfortable. The bed is fine for two persons and it is very good.
How was the food they offer?: The food is excellent. The breakfast is full of tropical fruits and other classical things depending of your own tastes. Never is the same.
The dinner with delicious and varied dishes usually represent the Cuban culture.
Other services they offer: The laudry service is very quickly and the parking service is two blocks from the house, but the attendant take care of your car very well. The minibar is always very well stocked and the prices aren't very high.
Other comments: I recommend this house to everybody whose would like to visit Cuba and enjoy a very good time. For me it is a 5 stars place.
