The casa is very nice and has a very beautiful garden. The room is clean, spacious, has a separate bathroom with good water pressure and warm water, AC, comfortable beds and a fridge. However depending on the day it can get very loud- one night we could not sleep until 03:30 am. The berakfast and dinner was very good. The location is good- you can walk anywhere you like.
The hosts are nice and helpful (only if you ask) but do not seem to be intersted in conversations. Also, on the day of departure it seemed like the owner was not quite interested in us any more and just wanted us gone. This can be improved as the experience lasts from the first time you see each other to the last time.
How was your room?: The room is clean, spacious, has a separate bathroom with good water pressure and warm water, AC, comfortable beds and a fridge.
How was the food they offer?: It was very good.
Other services they offer: help with excursion to el Nicho

Casa Amarilla
My review: The Casa is really nice, with a very nice rooms (even with cleaning like in a hotel), nice garden where you can sit outside and enjoy the warm evenings and very welcoming hosts!
The room is really clean and looks completely new and renovated. The bed is very comfy and the airco works perfect. We enjoyed together with some other guests diner prepared by the hosts.
The fish was really nice and the food provided was really enough!
The casa is too my opninion just as good as an hotel, but way nicer because of the size of it!
If you go to Cienfuegos we would recommend you to stay in this casa!
How was your room?: Very nice room, looks just like a hotelroom in Varadero's resorts!
How was the food they offer?: Really nice breakfast and diner!

Casa Amarilla
My review: Casa Amarilla was our home away from home for four nights in January 2015. The hosts Martha and Manolo were very helpful and caring. Martha is a very warm person and right from the start she made us feel like visiting family. Both hosts speak English. Fabulous Marta helped us with arranging taxis, sightseeing and even a casa in Havana. There was no fixed time for meals. Martha was very flexible and serving breakfasts and delicious dinners "on demand".The room was clean and had very comfortable bed. Everything worked well including the air condition. The bathroom looked completely new, the shower was great. There is also a lovely backyard where all meals are served.
The location of Casa Amarilla could not be better. Very nice neigboorhood, always fresh air - since Punta Gorda is not Downtown Cienfuegos, but close, only 3 CUC bicycle taxi to/from Downtown (or 25 min pleasant walk along the Malecon).
One more convenience - the money exchange office (CADECA) is about 50 meters away from the house.
We definitely recommend Casa Amarilla as a great place to stay.
Thank you Martha and Manolo for making our stay so pleasant and comfortable. We miss you !

Casa Amarilla
My review: Nothing could have been easier ? We arrived in Cienfuegos on the morning bus from Havana and were greeted with a sign bearing our names and a pedi-cab ready to whisk us away to Martha and Manolo’s home in the Punta Gorda section of Cienfuegos. While it is actually an easy and enjoyable walk from their home to the centre of town (10-15 minutes on a good sidewalk bordering the ocean), we were grateful for the assistance in getting our luggage to the casa … and in such a pleasant and unique (to us) way. Upon arriving, Martha met us at the door and showed us to our room. It was just perfect: clean, bright, furnished with 2 comfortable beds (the double bed having reading lights on both sides … an unusual feature in Cuba in our experience), a well-stocked fridge, plenty of closet space and a newly refurbished bathroom. Our room was located just inside the fence to their beautiful back yard, so we had easy access to a choice of seating areas where we could sit and visit, take a drink and write in our journals, or just relax and enjoy some quiet time. We also ate out doors in the canopied area closest to the house, 2 breakfasts and one evening meal, each one delicious and filling. Both Martha and Manolo were warm and generous hosts. They provided us with recommendations for a good restaurant, arranged transportation for us to sights we wished to visit, made calls to confirm subsequent accommodation for us, and spent time helping us to learn more about life in Cuba. Martha came to our rescue on our last day there by driving us to the bus station when the pre-arranged pedi-cab failed to arrive. We would highly recommend this casa to anyone planning a visit to the Cienfuegos area.
**as we understand there is another Casa Amarilla in Cienfuegos, please take care to look for the one owned/operated by Martha.
Other comments: Lovely people, a comfortable environment, a wonderful stay. Muchas gracias!
