My review: All your suggestions were very important for our tour. We had two very bright weeks in Cuba about 3000 km in 14 days with a rental car in East Cuba from Havana-Trinidad-Moron-Cayo coco-Puerto padre-Santiago-Santa Lucia-Cayo Santa Maria-Varadero and back and we will come again and again because our cuban friends are so hospitable. Thank all the casas so much for the kindness and hospitality. We felt just at home and with friends. We are touched. We were unfortunated just in Caibarien. We are absolut normal people, but what we have seen in this house exceeds our imagination of a normal house/casa p. We hereby apologize in advance if we offend someone. The luncheon was good, but unfortunately, the whole time we heard the cook spitting on the kitchenfloor. We arrived late at night, so we just wanted a quiet place to sleep, unfortunately we were not able to sleep at all, because the neighbours celebrated a discoparty. Much worse was the fact that the sheets were crushed and we didn't know if they forgot the ironing or just left them on the bed from the visitors before us, the toilet was blocked and soiled, the bathroom sink and mirror were uncleaned, dust was on every surface and we have had a flat tyre after we said, that we wanted to stay only one night. We can't imagine how all the good recomandations for this house are not true anymore. What we saw there was absolut intolerable. Virginas Pension was the worst casa of the whole trip.We take full responsibility for our statement. If you want please contact us under aleitinger@web.de, we will answer you and can send you pictures from there. Aleksander&Eva Leitinger.

My review: We stayed in this casa for two nights in December 2011. The casa is near the train and the city-centre, and it is grand and historic. Probably you have read somewhere that Che used to stay here during his trips in Santa Clara -the landlady, senora Sonia takes pride in it, and you can ask and see unpublished pictures of Che.
Senora Sonia makes you feel like you are visiting family -she is warm and very accommodating. There is a piano and other music instruments in the house, and Sonia occasionally sings along to the radio!
We certainly enjoyed our staying there, and we highly recommend the place.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Colonial, Roomy, Charming, Beautiful, Safe, Patio
Amenities: Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Minibar, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with tub
How was your room?: not the most modern, but very spacious, and steeped in history -CHE USED TO STAY HERE!
How was the food they offer?: Breakfast and dinner is served in a lovely patio -huge portions and delicious, traditional home-made cuisine, and she serves a wicked mojito, too
Other services they offer: internet access is available across the road (in another casa), just ask the owner
