The comfortable casa particular La Casona Jover is located in one of the most privileged parts of Santa Clara. This colonial casa was built in 1867 and is located at 300 meters from the center of Santa Clara. All the touristic must see attractions are in walking distance from this place such as the mausoleum of Che Guevara which is located around 20 minutes or El Tren Blindado at 8 minutes also in a walking distance. Other special characteristic of this casa particular is the complete privacy of the guests because the owners of the hostel have another house beside there so the guests can enjoy the place completely private.

Casa La Casona Jover

My review: I stayed one night at this Casa. It was my first stay in Cuba off-resort, and I was travelling alone. I was a bit reluctant, until I met the hosts, Denis and Mirta. I was treated like royalty. The room was large, cool and impeccable. Dinner was enormous, a delicious Cuban dish (house special) of pineapple soy chicked accompanied by soup, salad, dessert and coffee. It was far more than I could possibly eat and very affordable.
The fridge in my room was well stocked, bottled water in abundance for a small cost. The shower and floors were sparkling clean. Denis arranged a cab for my hour and a half drive back to my resort. The cab driver was a lovely man and spoke enough English that we were able to carry on a very informative conversation. If you require taxi service, just ask Denis.
While there, I was happy that all I had to do is step out onto the walkway and a taxi of some kind was within a minutes wait....bicycle, horse, car. The house was old colonial and beautifully arranged with pieces from that era.
I can't wait to return for a longer stay in this beautiful vibrant city....there is so much to see. Thank you Mirta, Denis and your beautiful family for your gracious care....hola to Mayito and Ernestina!
