Casa de Ernesto y Mireya

My review: Very clean with newly-renovatred, modern washroom. Has air conditioner, hot water. Room had a double bed and a twin, a fridge stocked with pop and water (for sale),TV, a bedroom lamp, big mirror. There is a dining room and a sitting area with a balcony on the same floor but the couple don't use them or stay away when the guest is present. So you have lots of privacy, it's like having your own apartment. The apartment is also on a well-lighted street, a few blocks from the plaza and across a church with a front yard. Meals are not included but can be ordered. You can make suggestions, like to have more fruits. My only suggestion (to all Cubans as well) is for them not to cut the vegetables and fruits into thin or small pieces. Guavas should be cut only into two or four pieces; the s! kin can be eaten if washed properly.

How was your room?: Excellent.
How was the food they offer?: Good. Breakfast can sustain you though the day. I ordered dinner and she served soup which was something I missed in Cuba. I also requested more fruits so she served lots but I should have asked her not to slice the guavas that way. Vegetables are hopeless in Cuba - it's the same shredded carrots, cabbage and cucumber or the overcooked (I think they are from cans) green beans.
