How much did you pay per night?: 25 cuc
How many stars do you give the casa?:
My review about the casa: My sister and I stayed here in august 2017. Carlos and Belkis are very kind people. They have the most beautiful house. For the price of 25 cuc we got an entire small apartment with a living room connecting to a balcony. We only stayed one night but if we could've we would have stayed longer because it was such a nice room. We left Santa Clara by rental car and Carlos and his son in law were very helpful in finding our way out of the city through some less busy places. We would difinitely recommend this to anyone!

I stayed here at: 04/17/2017
How did you make the reservation for this casa particular?: Through Cuba-Junky's Casa App
How much did you pay per night?: We paid 20.00 CUC's per night, about 20.00 US
How many stars do you give the casa?:
My review about the casa: We loved staying with Carlos and Bellkis. They are lovely and gracious hosts that welcome you as family when you arrive. They live in a wonderful colonial style home in the heart of Santa Clara. It’s comfortable and relaxing. They, as well as their daughter and son-in-law, were helpful in every way: directions, taxis, suggestions on sights to see as well as restaurants and coffee shops. Their home is close to the square and easy access to all of Santa Clara. We had delicious breakfasts and dinners, some of the best meals we ate in Cuba. We will definitely book with them when we return. They made our time in Santa Clara very enjoyable.
How was your room?: Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. It had an additional room with comfortable rockers and a balcony overlooking one of the main streets in Santa Clara. It also had a refrigerator with water, beer and sodas.
How was the food they offer?: The food is delicious and plentiful. We could never finish everything Belkis prepared.
Fresh fruits, homemade flan, fish, pumpkin soup, salad, and more. Some of our best meals in Cuba.
Other services they offer: They did our laundry and that was a huge help to us. We greatly appreciated this service.
Other comments: Carlos and Belkis go above and beyond to provide guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and it shows in everything they do. They were the best part of Santa Clara for us!!

Hostal Carlos & Belkis

My review: We have been in more than 10 casas during our stay in Cuba. The casa of Carlos and Belkis is by far the best casa we stayed in. Carlos is a very nice man which – in English and very easy to follow Spanish – explains everything and gives some good tips about visiting Santa Clara and traveling Cuba in general. Belkis is a lovely woman which helps whenever she can. The breakfast and lunch served by Belkis is delicious. The colonial house is absolutely gorgeous. We had a living room with balcony, a bedroom and a bathroom for ourselves. This all for only 25 CUC per night. The house is located next to the boulevard and just three walking minutes from the central plaza. Carlos had some good tips about local restaurants. Carlos and Belkis arranged our next casa in Playa Girón – Casa Mirtha y Raúl – which we really enjoyed, as well. Hablo español un poco. He probado traducir el texto inglés.

Casa Carlos y Belkis

My review: Fantastic casa and fantastic hosts. Despite only staying here one night it was the best casa we stayed at in cuba.

The room is quiet and the bed very comfortable. Carlos speaks very good English and was very hospitable. There is also a separate mini dining room with a couple of rocking chairs with some views over the rooftops.
It is also very near the centre.
I cannot recommend this casa enough.
How was the food they offer?: We had breakfast here. But it was nice and plentiful. We couldn't eat it all there was that much!

Casa Carlos y Belkis

How was the food they offer?: D-é-l-i-c-i-e-u-x!!

My review: We are sure this is one of the best places in Santa Clara: Very close to the Boulevard but very quite, beautiful people, a wonderful apartment, and a very good breakfast. Lilian and the others helped us in may ways, also making reservations in other places in Spanish (we could only speak a very little bit). It was a nice atmosphere to get up in the quiet morning, watching the day to start and the street awake from our balcony and to have a extensively breakfast. Thank you very much and all the best for the future - Georg & Silvie
How was your room?: One of the best we had in Cuba!
How was the food they offer?: Very good - much and a good quality!
Other comments: We recommend it very much!

Casa Carlos y Belkis Santa Clara

My review: Carlos was so accomodating, his English was great. The hospitality received was extremely five star. I stayed there on my own, it was closed to the town square . Virtually a 2 min walk to the boulevard mall. The room was big and comfortable, with a additional room at the front for relaxation. Highly recommended you won't be disppointed , I will definitely be staying there again when I return. Thank you Carlos for making my trip to Santa Clara so memorable.
How was your room?: Perfect as mentioned above exceptional, had a remote fan and air conditioning that works as new.
How was the food they offer?: Due to limited funds and I wanted to buy my own . Never tried the food however I was offered and accepted free coffee and juice anytime I requested.
The coffee thou was damn fine, very Cuban espresso strong.
Other services they offer: Carlos went above and beyond his requirement, he discounted the rate due to the fact that I had originally booked for two people, but ended up just being myself. Contacted other Casa to interpret what I needed for my next destination. Did a total orientation of The house and it's services, kept being available on call if I needed further help. I have stayed in my five star hotels, for what was available I felt I was provided with five star service.
Other comments: Highly recommended.

We paid 25 CUC / night and 3 CUC for breakfast and 8 CUC for (the wonderfull, with a lot of food) dinner!

Casa Carlos y Belkis

My review: Carlos and Belkis first of all you are really wonderful, special people, who we always will remember when we think back to Cuba!

When we arrived at the casa we where welcomed by Carlos his mother in-law. She welcomed us with tea, coffee and cookies. We took seats in the breeze in the wonderfull lounge with a nice view where we waited for Carlos to arrive. Carlos greeted us like family and showed us the nice characteristic room with our own balcony. The room has a large bathroom (with bad), refrigirator, rocking chairs (which are awesome), comfortable beds and a really quite airconditioning.

First day we went out for Santa Clara and visited all the Che things to do/see. After we walked some miles we had dinner at the casa prepared by Belkis. We had some delicious fish, with a lot of rice and vegatables. As a desert we got some nice sweet coconut pie.
We asked Carlos if it was possible to arrange a taxi for us to go to Cayo Santa Maria. No problem of course!
He arranged a really nice old chevrolet in just the perfect condition.

After we came back from the beach we enjoyed another really nice dinner prepared by Belkis. Just before the dinner we found out that it was Carlos his birthday. They are so busy making it comfortable for you that they didn't even mention this to us. We where invited to eat a piece of cake with them (which was delicious!).

After the family left we spoke with Carlos for almost an hour about Cuba and his very interesting vision on Cuba. Finally we had to leave with a lot of pain in our hearts and we want to go back everyday since we returned home!

If you would like to sleep at the most perfect casa ever, go sleep at Casa Carlos y Belkis!!!

How was your room?: Wonderfull, no comments at all!
How was the food they offer?: Very delicious and a lot :)
Other services they offer: Love to you as a guest!
Other comments: We would like to wish you all the best and good luck with your wonderfull Casa!
Lots of love for you and your family :).

Casa Carlos y Belkis

My review: Carlos and Belkis were excellent hosts in their lovely home. The casa is at an excellent location – walk out the door and you're 5 minutes from Parque Vidal, and less than 5 minutes away from several restaurants. To get to the Tren Blindado monument simply turn left out the front door and walk along the same road for about 10-15 minutes. As soon as we arrived we were able to get a bicitaxi from the road right out front directly to the Viazul Station (3cuc) and then on to the Che Guevara Mausoleum (another 3cuc). A lovely air-conditioned and fanned room, with windows and a door which open onto the courtyard when more light and air is desired, is connected to a small living room with a table, rocking chairs, and stocked fridge and freezer. This has its own little balcony looking out over a busy-but-not-bustling street below and out over the rooftops of Santa Clara (an excellent place to watch thunderstorms!). The bathroom is old but still functions fine. Food-wise, we did not get dinner here but we had breakfast every day (4cuc each), which was probably the best we got at any casa particular – fruits, tortilla, a cheese and sausage toasted sandwich, and every day some kind of pudding. Belkis was happy to make toasted sandwiches for us at the breakfast table to take for later in the day at no extra cost. She also did a full load of laundry for us for 3cuc.
How was your room?: Lovely, airy, including a living room endowed with a balcony looking over the city.
How was the food they offer?: Breakfast was excellent
Other services they offer: Laundry (3cuc)

Casa Carlos y Belkis

My review: Carlos and Belkis were the most wonderful hosts. It was definitely our favourite casa that we stayed in during our trip. They were so generous with their time and knowledge and we felt very at home. We wished we could have stayed longer.

How was your room?: Our room was beautiful and it had an amazing extra sitting room with a balcony that you could watch the street from. It was nice to have a small private sitting room that wasn't just your bedroom. There was a fridge and they kept it well stocked even though there was a bit of a beer shortage going on at the time. The prices for the food and the drinks were very very reasonable.
How was the food they offer?: Super delicious! Belkis and the nice woman who was helping her did a great job with dinner. It is impossible that you could leave the dinner table hungry.

Casa Carlos y Belkis

My review: What wonderful people! Carlos and Belkis are great hosts, who offer their guests a beautiful home. The accommodation is beautifully maintained, and has a 'time warp' feel to it.
Carlos speaks fantastic English, and is very patient and will speak to you in Spanish to help you learn if you don't already know. He is also a very genuine man, he cares for the well being of his guests and will offer you good advice aimed at you getting the most out of your stay.
This is a family home, and boy, Carlos' family s very welcoming. The household is made up of his two twin daughters and son-in-law, as well as Carlos and Belkis - you will also occasionally bump in to his brother, and friends that frequent the house.
You are left to your privacy, but also all of Carlos' family is at hand if you ever want or need anything. I had breakfast and evening meals at the Casa, and the occasional daytime sandwich - Meals her are fantastic, authentic, and prepared with fantastic service in mind - i was made to feel ever so welcome and at home - it was like home away from home.

How was your room?: Room was very comfortable. It had a wall fan and modern air conditioning. A large and eve so comfortable bed, with private bathroom and small diner that looks out on to the street, with a view of Catedral de Santa Clara de Asís (I think that is its name - see pic). You have a modern fridge, table and comfortable setting. The room also opens up in to thecantral lobby area of the house, which looks so antique, and creates a real mood that adds to the pleasure and enjoyment of being in Cuba.

Casa Carlos y Belkis | Santa Clara | Cuba

How was the food they offer?: Fantastic!!!
Prepared with care, and wonderfully presented. You are really looked after, and you will appreciate the family's authentic wish for you to be comfortable, and to really enjoy your meal.

Casa Carlos y Belkis | Santa Clara | Cuba

Other services they offer: What ever you need really. Laundry, tourist advice, help with language, arranging taxi (at proper rates) - any reasonable request, and you will be assisted with pleasure.
Other comments: If I ever go back or stop by in Santa Clara - this is where I will stay. if t is full, i will go back just to say hello.
