How did you make the reservation?: The casa directly

How much did you pay per night?: $25, plus $3-7 for when I ate at the house.

Comfortable and clean, a lady came by every day to wash the facility's floors, bathrooms and freshen the bedding. I really enjoyed dining in the inner courtyard. Open to the sky, there was plenty of room between the tables with plants all around. You never felt like you were encroaching upon the space of other guests. The outside patio was covered and nice for getting a little work done on my laptop, while enjoying a beverage. Even during the unexpected downpour of rain. Francisco and his staff were very attentive. He arranged for a classic car taxi to drive me and my partner on a 100km day trip to visit friends in the village of Jibacoa. The place is easily within walking distance of some nice paladars, churches, public square, train station, Club el Mejunje, bicycle taxis, swimming pool, and short ride to the Che stuff and more. I stayed here for the better part of my two week stay exploring the city and Villa Clara.

How was your room?: Clean and comfortable with a personal bathroom with hot and cold pressurized water! Closet, chairs, fan, air-conditioning, louvered windows for fresh air (and mosquitos if you leave them open at the wrong times) and a small fridge.

How was the food they offer?: Fresh and generous. Offering items with unpredictable availability at the government's restaurants. A selection of beverages from fresh juices, tea & coffee with milk, to beer when requested. Home cooked dinners, fruit toast and egg breakfast+. I had a very enjoyable stewed chicken with rice pilaf and salad one evening.

Other services they offer: forward bookings, itinerary assistance, connections to local services and shops, maps, parking security.

Other comments: This place is a safe hidden oasis just off the street and minutes to most everything in Santa Clara. On my final night Francisco put us up in his room while they accommodated a family of 8!
