Casa El HolandesMy review: Very lovely Casa with friendly owners Herman and Yolanda. It is nicely situated in Trinidad. They offer several excursions which are very cool, like taking a ride in Herman's Chevy to the Valle de los Ingenios! How was your room?: Clean and cozy!
Other services they offer: The excursions they offers are diving, horse riding in de Valle de los Ingenios, a tour in a Chevy, and many more. We asked Herman if we could get dance lessons somewhere so he arranged it for us the same night at the Casa! Other comments: I recommend this casa to everybody who likes to discover the Cuban life, Trinidad and Yolanda's amazing dishes! Nov 9 2014 Casa A Bienvenido en El HolandesMy review: When we see Herman standing in front of his and Yolandas "bluehouse" welcome to our home we felt at once that our Days in Tinidad would be good.And so it was. As the Casa is situated so central makes it easy to walk around and experiences of the fabulous old culture of Trinidad. How was your room?: Our room with bathroom Clean and big and comfortable. How was the food they offer?: We eat the most exelent breakfest and dinners made by the boss of the kitchen Yolanda, together with the "Girls" working there.All of them so friendly and familiar to us, so eating in this Casa was a great pleasure every time. Other comments: Herman is a man who told us a lot about the history of Cuba ans how it is to live on Cuba today. He i a exelent organizer of different excursions for instance taking us to the wonderful beach and to the unforgetable horse riding that started outside the house and took us into the valley, over the mountain to the farm. One of the best memory from Cuba quided by a most wonderful Yuder Iznaga who teached us about Everything in very good English. Oct 20 2014

Yolanda's cooking skills made me enjoy breakfast and dinner! All in all, this is an excellent casa in an enjoyable city! Herman arranged diving and a great tour through the valley of the sugar plantations with his classic chevy car. Casa A Bienvenido En El HolandesMy review: Herman is a wonderful host and great tour guide. He was very flexible and easy going about our stay and took us on a fascinating tour of the nearby sugar plantations with a full run down of the history. He's interested and knowledgeable about Trinidad and Cuba and has a fascinating life story. I highly recommend staying with him and his lovely wife and taking one of his tours which are a day well spent. May 9 2014
Casa A Bienvenido En El HolandesMy review: After staying in several other Casas in Havana, Viñales, Cienfuegos and Playa Larga, all good, it was still a relief to have a host, Herman, who speaks such fluent English. Herman and Yolanda, and the family, were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this casa to anyone planning to go to Trinidad (and I would recommend Trinidad especially compared to other places we visited). How was your room?: The room was pleasant, clean, comfortable, and the bathroom had hot water. How was the food they offer?: Really excellent. We had many lobsters in Cuba, and theirs was a real treat. Other services they offer: Herman took us, with another couple, to see the Valle de los ingenios (plantations), to see the ruins of a plantation house with the foundations of the slaves quarters still in tact. Herman has a passion for the history of Cuba and is very knowledgeable. This was the most informative part of our whole stay in Cuba. Other comments: A truly excellent choice of Casa. We were in a kind of ‘travelling mode’ when we arrived. Casa el Holandes felt like home. Outside of the casa is a normal busy Cuban street nearby the centre of Trinidad. Inside the house is peace and relaxing, so we came out of our travelling mode. The way the casa is built, with the 2 houses and in the middle the patio, looks fantastic. The food tasted very good and we eat with other guests in the patio. It’s also possible to eat with 2 persons in a nice corner somewhere in the house. We parked our car at the front of the house and we walked from the house to the centre. It’s only 5 to 10 min walking to the centre so you don’t need the car. We did a trip (by our self) to a waterfall, very nice! The sea is 20 min by car and there are different nice beaches. We did also a trip with Herman to see the historical places in the area. This was very nice and also informative. We’ve been on places where you can feel and see the history. We did also scuba diving and we take a salsa lesson. All organized by Herman and Yolanda and the family. Because we travelled already 1.5 weeks we had a lot of questions about Cuba. Herman (and of course Yolanda) knows a lot of Cuba and gave answer on every question. This was very helpful for us to understand what we already saw on our trip. We’ve been 5 nights in Casa el Holandes before we go to the south of Cuba. It was a very nice time with a lot of fun with the family and other guests. If we go again to Cuba we go definitely again to casa el Holandes.

My review: We stayed at Casa Bienvenido en el Holandes for four nights and throughly enjoyed it. We have stayed in various dwellings in our travels and this one ranks toward the top. Herman and Yolanda were outstanding host; knowledgeable, helpful and fun. We enjoyed dinner together with the hosts and sharing yarns on such topics as politics, religion, history, culture, and you 'name it'. How was your room?: The room was clean with two beds and a large bathroom; sink and shower. How was the food they offer?: The food was great. Made it a point to eat at the casa because it was far better than you would receive in any restaurant. A variety of foods, meat or vegetarian, that you could suggest beforehand. There was also a good deal to eat. Other services they offer: Herman had us met at the bus station with a bike taxi. When we left he suggested taking a taxi to Havana rather than the bus. It was much quicker, 10 cucs more but drove us to our next casa. He also set us up with another very good casa in Havana. Other comments: Enjoyed the personality, honesty and friendship of the host. Casa A Bienvenido En El HolandesMy review: We have had a wonderful time at Casa el Holandes. herman and Yolanda are very friendly and made our stay more special. The minute we arrived they have giving us a warm welcome. Yolande made the best food and Herman can tell everything about the history of Cuba.
How was the food they offer?: Great! Breakfast and diner. Other services they offer: Taxi, american car, history stories by Herman. It's also possible to arrange a trip together with Herman. he will show you the best spots of Trinidad and show you monumental buildings (historical) It is also possible to go diving; arranged by Herman.
