Casa Carlos Sotolongo
My review: The casa, built in traditional colonial style, is situated right of the main square (Plaza Mayor). Despite this and the closeness to several sources of music (restaurants, Casa de la Trova etc) the casa is quiet, especially once you close the door to the room. The rooms face a lush and beautiful patio/garden - in one corner there is furniture (and electric light) for one to read or otherwise relax.

How was your room?: The room was very spacious and fitted with two beds on stilts (the size being somewhere between a single and a double bed), a chest of drawers with mirror and a wooden couch. Blankets available for chilly nights. Private bathroom with electrically heated shower.
How was the food they offer?: The food served for breakfast as well as dinner was good, without being extraordinary (one possible exception being the breakfast juice that at least the first two mornings did not seem to be made from fresh fruit). Portions were copious.

Hostal Casa Carlos Sotolongo
My review: This casa in Trinidad had to be the best on one all the city. You are staying right in the centre of town, where it is walking streets only (if you have a car, don't worry you can park it at a neighbours place for a small fee). Right in front of the casa is Plaza Mayor. The area is really beautiful. The casa itself is one of the original colonial houses, and the family that owns it are direct descendants. They welcomed us very warmly, and staying with them was a pleasure. The room was huge!! The food was good, and they were wonderful hosts. I would stay here again if I were to go back to Trinidad. In addition to the room, there was a gorgeous garden patio you could sit at and relax, take in the music of the street bands, read, etc. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable pla! ce to stay.

How was your room?: The room was gigantic. With 2 queen size beds. It had huge doors & windows you could leave open towards the garden. Attached was a private bathroom with sink, shower & toilet. It was very clean and comfortable.
How was the food they offer?: The food was good. Lots of variety. They made sure you had enough to eat and some!

Casa Carlos Sotolongo
My review: It was one of the best rooms we had in Cuba including the hotels. The room was nice, big and clean. The owners are really kind, helpful and always smiling. They have a nice garden where you can sit out of your room. The food was excellent just like the service :) We would recommend it to anybody!

Very nice colonial Casa, located in an amazing place in the city with lots of things to visit arround. the house it self is a museum as well as the courtyard a botanic garden, full of antiques and an amazing garden where to read and or relax after a day in Playa Ancon or walking arround the Town.
About the hosts, they are really good. They are welcoming as well as they respect your own space. and they will go the extra mile to help you in what ever you need. Natural Born Hoteliers.

How was your room?: Amazing! Two King sized Beds that are old (antique) but very confoirtable.

How was the food they offer?: Really good. Carlos is a very good cook. He can do whatever you want, fish, meat, chicken. His cooking stile is simple and honest. You wont get anything fancy but simple, freshly cooked, amazing food. Much better than other paladares advertised in guides
Other services they offer: They will help you if they can withwhatever you need. Just ask
Other comments: We cant recomend highly enough this casa. we went for three days and we didnt want to leave.

Casa Carlos Solotongo
Review:
I stayed here as a solo traveller for three nights.I chose this Casa because of its central location and the authenticity of the old coloniel buildings. The owners were very hospitible. Carlos met me at the bus station and helped me with my bags to the Casa. The meals were always on time and were well prepared. I asked for specific Cuban meals and everything I asked for I was served in huge quantities.
The central location was a perfect choice. I could just step into their back beautiful back garden for a rest in complete solitude.I would recomend this casa to anyone. it was just steps from the museums and about a 5 minute walk to the nearedt convenience store.

How was your room?: My room was beautiful with a well maintained bathroom and shower. The ceiling was about 25-30 feet high. The casa was built in 1814. There was an AC which I never used.
How was the food they offer?: The food was very good. I gave them a liat of Cuban food I wanted to try and they gladly perepared it for me in far more quanitiy than I could eat.
Other comments: It was a very memorable experience for me and I would like to thank Terry (Martian) on Trip Advisor for this suggestion.

Casa Carlos Sotolongo
Review: Colonial house in the heart of the beautiful city of Trinidad. House beautiful, spacious and clean. The indoor space filled with plants and Danimal (eg, cat, parrot, turtle, lizard turquoise and green ...) is a table Eden. Not to mention laccueil Carlos and especially his wife. Really a lovely couple. The kitchen Carlos is just a drop to the ground.

Casa Carlos Sotolongo
Review:
This is the only casa particular facing the Plaza Mayor. The house is a construction from mid 18 century. All the history of Trinidad can be touched in its enviroment. The owners: Carlos and Galinka are incredibly hospitable. Carlitos, the son is a magnificent host and Perucho, the grand dad is a living encyclopedia of Cuban history.
A great breakasft is available every morning and an excellent dinner is upon request.

Review:
We stayed at this Casa for 3 nights in July 2009 and can highly recommend it. The casa is located in the best location in the historic core of the town on the main square, close to resturarnts and live music venues. The house has recently been renovated and the owners job at the nearby Museum de Romantica is evident in the way his home is furnished.
The owners currently rent one room (but they are preparing a second)which is large and clean with a private bathroom, air con and fan. The room is accessed off the central courtyard. There is a huge living room with rocking chairs and tradional cuban furniture where you can sit and watch the square.
3 generations of the family live in the house and the owners son speaks very good english. The family are very welcoming and provide excellent breakfasts and dinners. They also provide secure parking nearby for a small fee.
We had a great stay here.
