Casa Villa Esperanza
We spent a wonderful week in Vinales with the most generous, lovely and caring family at Villa Esperanza. Yilian, her adorable son Marcos, her parents (Bernabé and Esperanza) and the rest of the extended family were very kind, helpful and generous.
If you prefer to stay with a family and get a feel for the real cuban experience in Vinales, we recommend staying at Villa Esperanza. The clean room comes with an air conditioner, the private washroom has hot/cold water 24hrs, and the delicious meals are all very reasonably priced. Yilian speaks English and Bernabé can also communicate in French if your Spanish isn't at the conversational level yet.
We learnt alot about Cuba by conversing with Yilian and playing with Marcos was loads of fun! The casa is very well situated - just two blocks from the bus station and the town's main square. During the evenings, it was great just chilling on the front porch watching people go by - and trying to spot those satellites in the sky! We got Yilian a couple watermelons from the local fruit/vegetable market at the end of the main street and it seemed that we had a never-ending supply of delicious freshly pressed melon juice for the rest of our stay!
Overall, we definately give Villa Esperanza a five star rating.
PS: see if Marcos managed to fly somewhere using the little red "alfombra"!

Casa Villa Esperanza
The host Yillian was really friendly and cooked delicious meals in the evenings for a very reasonable price. She speaks english well. Her son and her parents also live in the house, so it has a real family atmosphere. I felt that in this house I could get a taste of the real Cuba, and feel very comfortable with the family there. The price of the room is very cheap, and although it is nothing fancy it is clean and comfortable. I strongly recommend this house because of the lovely hosts.

While
in Vinales, we stayed at the "Villa Esperanza"
Our hosts were very gracious, the room was comfortable,
with a private
bathroom, the meals were fabulous, and, best of all,
there was a wonderful
porch to sit on and watch the world go by.
