Dear Cuba-Junky We went to visit this home on April 1st. We were the first foreign visitors these children had ever met. It is a small home with 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls. There are 8 social workers. The home in Cardenas shares their food, clothing, medicine with this orphanage with a real spirit of co-operation. The children were a little shy to start but began to smile and laugh when the camera was taking pictures. The name and address is: Hogar Por Ninos Sin Amparo y Filial (Home for Children Without Parents and Family) Mario Munoz #260 % Marta Abreu y Glotilde Garcia Colon, Matanzas Cuba Telephone 31-2619 This is an orphanage in a relatively remote area about one hour from Varadero. The city of Colon is an agricultural community but has some excellent Spanish colonial architecture. It is unlikely that foreigners will visit Colon but there is always a chance somebody will want to go on an adventure.
