My review: Wer den Weg bis hier gemeistert hat braucht diese Familie an seiner Seite. Die Ihre Pension mit sehr viel Liebe und Humor betreiben.
Alle sind stets Hilfsbereit und da die Weg auch etwas weiter zu den Gewünschten Zielen sein können, kann man sich fast zu jeder Tages und Nachtzeit von Daniel oder seinem Sohn für kleines Geld fahren lassen.
Eine sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre bei der ganz sicher kein Stress aufkommt.

Hostal La Roca Holguinera
My review: We never expected to be as well received. The family of Daniel and Marcia was wonderful and very keen to make our stay more enjoyable. They are also valuable tips to help you discover their wonderful region. The villa is a five minute ride from the center of Holguin and the road to the sea (1/2 hour drive). Very nice and very clean, there is a spacious room with private bathroom. The room opens onto an outdoor terrace quite charming and intimate. It is very clean and the neighborhood is safe. The breakfast and dinner are hearty and better than restaurant. This is the ideal place to explore the area and enjoy the city life. We recommend the casa roca all travelers who want to enjoy a autantique stay. We already look forward to returning. Good stay!

Villa La Roca
My review: My husband and I stayed a few nights at the Villa La Roca, Holguin in April 2013 at the beginning of our one month trip around the Oriente part of Cuba on our bikes. Daniel and Marcia, the owners are incredible! The place is super clean and has an artistically decorated terrace with long chairs and a hammock. The food prepared by Marcia (and sometimes her mother) is very tasty and made with great attention to details. They have the most comfortable bed in Cuba (and we did a lot of beds in one month). We were welcomed with open arms and made part of the family. They picked us up at the airport with our 2 bike boxes and Daniel helped us plan our trip (he speaks good English) , he gave us addresses of good and clean Casas in all the places we wanted to go as well as good advice and recommendations on our choices of destinations. It was like having our own private guide. Knowing where we were going to stay made things so easy and hassle free. The current casa would call the next one when we were ready to move on to our next destination – we were never disappointed with any of the addresses given by Daniel.
When we stayed at Villa La Roca, Daniel and Marcia were finishing a new self-contained apartment (with a small kitchen and a big balcony) adjacent to the casa on the second floor. This will be great for travellers wanting a bit more privacy than Casas normally give. The casa is a bit out of the town center but they have good bikes to rent and the horse wagon (taxi) are one block from the house and cost about 10 cents.

My review: Great place to stay in Holguin. Owners (Daniel and Marcia) are extremely welcoming and great at helping with planning activities, arranging transport or recomending other casas. Some of the best food I've had in Cuba was cooked by Marcia and her mother. Like Daniel says: It's all about the charisma!!

My review: This casa gave me directly a warm welcom to Cuba. Casa owners Daniel and Marcia knows how to make youre stay very pleasant. Daniel Speaks good English and will show you the way in Cuba. Marcia is a great cook. i can recommend this casa. Experience it your own.

My review: This was a fantastic Casa. Daniel and Marcia, are excellent hosts. Daniel has a great sense of humour and can speak very good english. Marcia, is very approacable and her cooking is devine! They helped with making travel arrangements for us, as well as doing a little personal shopping for us, of items i wanted, but could not find myself. On another visit, they were not able to book us into their casa, but they went out of their way to find an alternate casa, which was very pleasing! I've stayed at alot of casa's, and I'm glad I found this one, Daniel and Marcia are great hosts, and enjoy what they are doing!

Villa La Roca Holguinera
My review: We stayed 2 nights with Daniel and his family. The house is lovely, with a large private terrace. Our room was large, very comfortable, clean and quiet. The food was excellent and the family extremely welcoming and friendly. They were wonderful hosts. Daniel speaks very good English which is great for travellers whose basic Spanish limits a proper conversation.
Ask Daniel for driving directions to the house. It is close to the main road, and easy to drive to, but the street was not on our maps or Google. From Holguin we drove to Baracoa via Moa in December 2012. From Moa it was 4 stressful hours to navigate 65 kilometres of potholes in our small rental car! We advise to take the longer but faster route via Guantanamo.

My review: Simply fantastic and very charming people. If you need a calm and cosy home in Holguin you are in good hands. Daniel and his wife are the perfect hosts.

My review:
I spent 7 nights (18-25 January 2013) at the Hostal La Roca Holguinera in Holguín, Cuba. I am a female of over 60 from The Netherlands, and travelled alone. It was the 13th time that I visited Cuba, but my first time in Holguín. The object of my trip was salsa classes, dancing at night, and a little sight-seeing.
The room was smallish (3.60x2.80) the bed 1.40x1.90, the bathroom excellent with everything working (!!). There was airco, a fan, a fridge, enough room to put your clothes in. No free entrance: from the street you enter a door, climb to the first floor, enter the owners' apartment, walk through their livingroom, kitchen, to their terrace where their petit restaurant is, and from there enter the door to your room.
The most outstanding feature is the hospitality and servcie of the owners. The man took me every morning and every night to the centre (4-5 kms) on his motorbike, never charging anything. His wife provided me with fresh fruit juice, soya yoghurt, fried banana chips, also without ever charging a peso.
With regard to the question what I liked and not liked: I liked the really great service of the owners (never experienced before). I didn't like very much the distance to the centre, the not-free entrance, the smallishness of the room, the neighbour-noises.

Breakfast was also excellent: fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices, eggs, ham, in short, everything you wanted, they ask for your wishes and comply with them.

Help you to get salsa dancing classes, on their terrace, or at the teacher's home.

Casa La Roca Holguinera
My review: Nous n'avons que du positif à dire de cette casa! Daniel et sa famille nous ont accueillis comme si nous étions de la famille! Ils sont incroyablement gentils, ils cuisinent bien (même de la nourriture végétarienne!) et ils font tout pour vous aider. Bref, nous avons adoré notre séjour chez eux et recommandons à tous cette casa.
PS Le café est gratuit toute la journée et ils louent aussi des vélos!!

My review: Quiet, clean, large bedrooms. Very hospitable, friendly hosts. Daniel was very helpful in trip planning; recommending good, safe casa's for us & suggesting interesting cycling destinations. Also, they are terrific cooks.
