My review: The restaurant is conveniently located between the Focsa building and Linea, very close to the Malecon, across the road from a busy shopping centre where you can find The Cadeca, the Post Office,a supermarket and few ATMs,there are also other shops very popular with the locals, all charge CUC.We went there very often during the month of July, mainly because is around the corner of our house.
The building is very grand and has two sections, one at the top of the stairs has the front door semiopen and has airconditioning and one on the ground floor on the left with more of a Spanish taverna feel. The one with air-con is very elegant, the downstairs one has a more informal feeling.
The menu is the same, you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner there, the portions are abundant and it is reasonably cheap, they claim their Arroz Con Pollo a La Chorrera is one of the best but I`ve had better at Meson De La Chorrera, next to the famous 1830,nevertheless that particular dish and a few more are well worth the price(around 4CUC)and are better shared between two people as the serving is impossible to finish for one person.Staff are professional and helpful and will welcome you even better the second time if you have left a couple of CUC as a tip(as everywhere else in the world!)
Like most of other restaurants in Cuba this one has a common oddity I never understood:what is the logic of having chandeleers, dressed up waiters, live band serenading you if there is no toilet paper in the very elegant bathroom?!
