My review: Nicolas and Rosy were marvelous. The house is lovely. They briefed us upon arriving and helped us with contacts for excursions, taxis, put us in contact with people when we wanted to make our own itinerary to Pinar del Rio.
Breakfast was lovely and for dinner they managed to find what we requested - yucca which they prepared with a lovely "mojo"!!
15 min walk to Parque Central, 2 minutes from el Malecon, and 30 minute walk to Havana Vieja. They offered great recommendations too!

Casa specifics: Quiet, Comfortable, Safe

Review

Laura and Marcela had a very nice experience at the Novo house. when we arrived we met Nicolas and Rosaura who were the most sweet hosts we could imagine. We actually stayed at their daughter's house but were having breakfast with them everyday. Nicolas cooks a DELICIOUS guayaba jam. Spectacular!! We would love to have it here in Italy! Rosaura was the best in helping us plan the entire trip. Without her we would have been lost and wondering around from one jinetero to another. They introduce us to their friends in each of the cities we went and were always a reference point for us. We felt like their daughters!!
We highly recommend anyone going to the Habana to stay at their place. Is not in Habana vieja but it's even better in Habana centro, where you really get to live the Cuban life and get away from turistic places.
We hope that they will host us again during our next trip...this time we'll be travelling on the south part of Cuba...Rosaura will for sure help us plan the trip! Thank you both for your patience and great hospitality.

The welcome of Nicolas y Rosy was unespected but very warm and open. We arrived in the middle of the night and we had suffer a serous delay with the airplane. So there were some difficulties about the room. But directly Nicolas offered us a nice alternative.
Since the day we arrived we felt instant relax, we like the way Nicolas y Rosy gave everbody a certain amount of the 'being at home' feeling! I think it take a certain being to be to be able and act like that. And to get introduced to his mother, father daughters etc. also helped a lot in our idea how we would do it ourselve, personal contact! We loved the conversations and the way how Rosy told us how to make a good mojito. And since Sylvia is a journalist herself we felt a lot of simmilarities between them.
When Nicolas offered us his list of 'friends' all over Cuba we immediatly said yes to him; we want that list too! It made our whole travel/journey one big adventure. Because we didn't have to think anymore where to sleep the next day in an other village or city. And all his connections we're gold worth and so friendly. Some friends of theirs made us cry by leaving the... Especialy the casa of Mariano and Miriam was one to remember and since we've adopted them as our grandparents ;-).

We have to come back for sure and we will! Even if it was just for the perfect Cohiba deal Nicolas offered me! and a little along the street you will find the original location of where 'Fesa y chocolate' has been shut. Nowodays it is a good restaurant and we advice to memorise your holiday there the last day of you in Cuba.

We began loving this country with it's people and friendlyness!

Hope to see you soon Nicolas y Rosy. maybe next time with us three!!!! ;-) Say hello to your family from us and tell them though they will not take notice of it... but we think about you guys a lot.

Amor y fuerza,
Desde Holanda German & Sylvia

How was your room?: we've stayed twice. but both times it was good, very good. but if you are used to a 5 star hotel prepare yourself for a little less ;-)
How was the food they offer?: we've only taken breakfast, good!
Other services they offer: anything you ask for. good!
Other comments: take care of your spanish, do not be afraid to talk and mistakes. they can perfectly intyerpetate what you mean. ask voor Cohiba's, see if you get it ;-)
