Indeed!! Luis is the Man!! We spent a week in his casa with my friends and we were completely satisfied, enjoyed every moment with him and his friendly Family! One of the best hosts of the Island if not the best!!
Great food, good company, great location, lovely casa!! Important to mention his reliability, he will help you with everything he can to make your stay memorable and unique, and not to forget his brother Javier, a helpful, friendly young Man. Highly recommended!! |

It would be hard to find a better casa than Luis's. We stayed there in Novemer and thoroughly enjoyed it. He has good English and is a real "people person": he'll help you with everything you need in Cuba, and loves to sit and chat with his guests. He takes great pride in his casa and has it wonderfully decorated with antiques, and is unusual in that he actually likes to spend his hard-earned cash on new additions and improvements. We could not reccomend Luis and his casa higher. Food is great too! |

Casa Luis Miguel is the perfect place to stay in Havana! Very convenient location. Just two blocks from the Malecon and convenient to Old Havana too. Luis is really friendly, helpful, and speaks very good English. He will help you arrange anything you need. I took really great salsa dances while I was there and they even walked me there so i wouldn't lose my way.
Also, if you can, definitely eat the food at Casa Luis Miguel. They are excellent cooks and the food is much more delicious than you will find in most Cuban restaurants. I stayed at another Casa when I came back from Trinidad because Luis Miguel's place wasn't available those dates and it was such a different experience. Don't hesitate to book Luis Miguel's place. You'll love it! |

Hello!
We stayed at Luis house in September. Since it was first casa to stay, did not know what really to expect, but the result was very fine - the rooms were nice, location of casa very good since you reach by foot all what you wish to see in Havana center and Old Havana. Luis also told us some first hints to know about Havana, also some local restaurants, places to see.
Speaking about meals - the cook was very good with the amount of meal we hardly could finish :)
On whole trip - casa Luis was really nice, and big part due to the Luis himself! |

We ( my husband and I ) greatly enjoyed staying at Luis's casa. We were very comfortable there; and the location allowed us a different view from the typical tourist haunts, while being close enough to enjoy those too. Luis, and all those who help make his casa such a pleasant place to stay, really care for beautiful things and for visitors who appreciate them. Through our stay there we gained some special insights into Cuba - the old days, today and the future - with all the paradoxes. We look forward to revisiting Cuba, and Luis in particular, to understand more of the evolution of this strong and independent culture. Thank you, Casa Luis! |

We (my husband and I) stayed a few nights at Casa Luis Miguel in November 2007. The rooms, the home-cooked meals and the service were great - we can highly recommend Casa Luis Miguel! Our trip to Cuba (Havana-Trinidad-Cayo Santa Maria) became memorable in so many ways, because I also found out that I was pregnant during our stay in Cuba and now we have a 3 month old baby boy.
I really hope we will be able to visit Cuba again someday... |

At last have a chance to write about Casa Luis Miguel. What can I say except what has already been written. It was a fantastic casa. Luis and his family are wonderful. It was great being out of the main hectic centre but not too far away. We had a nice stroll into the town in the morning along the malecon and then a quick taxi ride back for the afternoon siesta! Some of my friends say you don't eat much in Cuba..they were lying but maybe that's because they hadn't stayed here. Lots of delcious food and even a birthday cake for me, thank you again. I would definitely recommend staying here.. do it! |

Back from Cuba...but after an amazing holiday in Cuba. I have been to different places, but most of my days I spent in Havana staying at different Casas but the BEST CASA in HAVANA is sure CASA LUIS MIGUEL, Campanario 63! I stayed there for the second time (last year was my first time in his casa) and I had the same hospitality and everything a tourist could wish. The house has a very nice colonial design and for sure is the best place to feel like home, to have all the facilities (the best working shower), very clean rooms and Luis is the best one to provide you information about everything you want to know....He speaks a good English, always helpful and kind.
If you go to Havana don't miss the opportunity of staying in his house! Pototo, Cuba junky-s man in Havana can help you for a reservation or simply contact Luis ! Have a very nice stay! |

I stayed with Luis during July/August, and couldn't have asked for a better host. A fantastic house, fantastic service, and Luis and his family made me feel like one of the family.
I will make a point of staying with him in future, and would recommend anybody else to do the same. They really can't do any more to make you feel welcome. |

We stayed at Luis Miguel's casa twice on our trip in Cuba. What can l say about this amazing casa. His house is like stepping back in time. The rooms are just great and his chef cooks the best meals. By far the best casa we stayed in in our whole trip in Cuba. Luis knows Havana like the back of his hand and if there is something he can't helpyou out with he knows someone who can. Luis and his whole family make you are so hospitable they make you feel like one of the family. I can fully recommending staying a Luis case to anyone that go's to Havana. You won't regret it.

We stayed with Luis Miguel and his family for four nights in Havana. It was an absolute pleasure! Our room and the dining room were decorated in quirky 1930s style and we really felt like we were visiting the old Havana as it once was. The location was perfect! We were right by the centre, just by the Malecon (the seaside), as well as close to La Guarida (Havana’s best restaurant). We walked almost everywhere in Havana. Luis Miguel served very nice food and we were happy to eat there every night apart from the visit to the highly recommended La Guarida. Luis Miguel helped us out with everything we needed to know about Havana and his English is very good which is a great help if you don’t speak Spanish. We really enjoyed our stay with Luis Miguel and his family and will definitely go back there the next time we’re in Havana! |

I
stayed with Luis Miguel during my all too brief visit to
Cuba. From the very first moment I walk in Luis’ wonderful
home, I was greeted with amazing hospitality and felt immediately
welcome with him. For me my experience in Cuba would have
been very different if it was not for Luis and his amazing
family. They were exactly what I had come to Cuba to find,
genuine and authentic I will never forget them. Luis spoke
wonderful English, a great relief to me, he was very informative,
insisting on telling me all the insider knowledge a traveller
to Cuba should know upon my arrival. He also told me about
all the places he would recommend I visit and even organized
Salsa lessons for myself a special treat I would not have
been able to find myself.
Luis
to me will be a friend for life… my travels turn somewhat
scary when I went to leave Cuba finding my flight had been
cancelled without any notification, and without any Spanish
or other contacts within Cuba I was stranded. This is where
Luis became my saviour and after only knowing me a couple
of days he came to my aid, he picked me up from the airport,
gave me a home and helped me translate to the airline to
get back home. Luis is true example of the wonderful Cuban
people and the experience that is going to Cuba. I will
be eternally grateful for Luis and his amazing heart. Any
one who stays with Luis will be truly privileged.
Thank you
for everything Luis
Your
Australian friend Carolyn

This was just as good as all the recommendations suggested!
Luis Miguel was an excellent starting point in Havana –
not only a warm and friendly host, but helpful in so many
ways. This man epitomizes the word “networker”,
and whatever you are looking for, he can probably hook you
up with what you need. As well, he takes it as his personal
responsibility to make visit suggestions for Havana and
give out tips for travelling safely. If he can’t accommodate
you, he will find someone who can – he always has
a plan B!! A beautiful and very comfortable home, and lovely
people. Highly recommended!! |

Just
thought I would drop a line to let you know what a fantastic
time myself and my daughter had staying at Luis’ home.
We were there for 5 days in July. His hospitality is great.
Nothing was too much for him to help us with. He escorted
us to a local hotel to change our money, gave us advice
about what to and what not to take out with us when sightseeing,
gave information about local areas such as Vedado and Havana
Vieja and was generally a mine of information. The casa
is a beautiful colonial house which he is rightly very proud
of. It is spotlessly clean and just a few steps from the
Malecon in one direction and a great local shopping centre
in the other. Walking to the end of the shopping area brings
you out right next to the Hotel Inglaterra and Parque Central.
No wonder its called Centro! It is a perfect place to stay
for sightseeing because everything is close by. The only
thing you have to watch out for is the wonderfully delicious
meals his wife makes. Just let Luis know what you want for
dinner and he will try his very best to get it for you.
Huge breakfasts and three course dinners! I managed to put
on a few extra pounds despite all the walking around we
did! Luis’ mojitos were great too. I would certainly
recommend Casa Luis-Miguel. It was wonderful!
