Casa Aleido
My review: I stayed at Casa Aleido for 7 days. It was an amazing experience. Aleido and his entourage are all super sweet and helpful. The house is so full of life, love, and laughter that makes it impossible to not wear a permanent smile. The house was very clean and welcoming. Jorgito did an amazing job adding extra pretties to each room. The location was ideal, being my first trip to Cuba, I really appreciated that it was very centrally located.
Aleido was a wonderful host. I would highly recommend this Casa Partiular to any visitor heading to Havana. I miss them all already (especially the vibrant 5 year old).

How was your room?: My room was amazing. It was HUGE! I stayed in the suite. It had a balcony, air conditioning, sitting area with a couch and a large TV, dining table/dining room, and a private bathroom with a shower.It was also equipped with a fridge.
How was the food they offer?: Delicious!!!! I had breakfast and dinner there. They were both superb!
Other comments: What a truly perfect experience the whole trip was. Much thanks and love Aleido and David (and Jorgito).

Casa Aleido
My review: This is my third time I have stayed at Aleido's house. I like staying with Aleido because he makes my visit in Havana more enjoyable. He is warm, funny, and just a wonderful person to sit and chat. He will let you know about places to see and candidly explain the Cuban way of life.
Aleido and his wing man, Jorgito, prepare delicious meals. They will even do a load of laundry for you if you happen to ran out of clean clothes. Jorgito cleaned our room and regularly brought in fresh towels.
Aleido's house is clean and safe. The location is convenient. You have access to nearby places to visits such as the Capitolio, Prado, and art museums. Also, you can grab taxis or buses if you feel like exploring other areas of Havana. They can be found 2 blocks away in front of Hotel Inglaterra.

How was your room?: My room had a private bathroom. It was also equipped with a fridge and a small table. It had a TV set; however, I never watched it because there are more interesting things happening in the street in Havana.
How was the food they offer?: Aleido offers breakfast and dinner for a nominal price.
Other comments: I can't imagine staying in Havana any where else, but at Aleido's.

My review: Almost 8 months after my stay at Aleido, I still think of this lovely casa and the best host I've ever stayed with. Aleido and his team (especially Jorge) are charming and they'd do everything possible for their guest. Aleido is an excellent cook and organiser: I forgot my medicine back home and tried to get what I needed in Havana - I spent all day running from one farmacy to the next without any success. I asked Aleido for help and it took him exactly 1 minute (a shout out of the window) and I received what I needed for little money. Just excellent. I will visit Cuba again and I will not stay anywhere else than with Aleido. Muchas gracias por todo y hasta pronto! Marcus

How was your room?: The "Suite" was first class - the room without private bath was OK. I would try to get one of the 2 rooms with private bath next time.
How was the food they offer?: Excellent! I tried breakfast and dinner several times and compared it to what you get in the streets - Aleidos food was much better

How was the food they offer?: Great Food!
When I stayed here I wasn't quite sure about whether to eat in or not
however during my stay I saw the delicious food prepared for some of the guests and visitors and Aleido persuaded me and cooked for me. The food was plentiful and very tasty, for 5 pesos excellent! If you eat out you pay at least that.
I only wish I had eaten there sooner. I'd definitely stay here again and will eat here too.

My review: Great location, comfortable, clean, cool (great air conditioning)very friendly and great hosts. Aleidos larger than life personality makes you very welcome. I'd heard all the scary stories about no booking etc so I emailed directly after I booked through Cuba Junky.......no problems at all. Great food as Aleido was a chef before the Casa. I was a little concerned that the bedroom had no windows........this turned out to be a good thing....very clean, very bright, very quiet and very cool with great airconditioning......and no mosquitos! - slept very well.Aleido and his assistant George are great hosts - you can join in and chat to their many friends who stay or visit or you can do your own thing. I did both and with such a central location it was easy. One thing that greatly impress! ed me was that a fellow guest one day had tooth ache pain. Aleido arranged for a local friend of his to take him for dental treatment - show the way and translate etc. I have travelled greatly and stayed at many of the great hotels - but have never heard of such wonderful help given freely to a guest. This is just one of several example of their great hospitality. I will definately return.

Casa Aleido
My review: When we arrived at Casa Aleido we got such a warm welcome from Aleido it was a wonderful start to our holiday in Cuba. We got a lot of good tips (where to eat, what to watch out for), and had a lot of laughs as well. The casa is located very near to The Capitol - and a few minutes walk to Havana Vieja, perfect location. Because we were traveling around the island we went back to Havana for one night and spent our last night in Havana as well and it was no problem for us to stay at Aleido's. Our experience at Casa Aleido really made our holiday very special - and if you enjoy good company, a good dose of humour, dogs named Versace and Gucci and delicious breakfasts, then look no further, you'll find all that, and more!

My review: We stayed at Aleido's from march 5 to 7 and march 27 to 29.
In the beginning Aleido was not present, due to family-circumstances. His brother Eriberto and friend George replaced him and did so very well. They were very friendly en helpful. Besides that they cooked very good meals for us.
Their pets, Gucci and Versace were very kind and affectionate.
The house was very colorful and spick-and-span.
The last two days of our stay Aleido's present added even more to the hospitality of these people. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Casa Aleido
My review: We have stayed here 3 times in April 2011, during our holiday in Cuba.
It is located near the Capitolio, on the border of Havana Vieja and Centro and you can easily get around on foot..
From the airport take a taxi to Hotel Inglaterra (25 CUC), go around the corner to San Rafael, and youll find the Casa in the middle of the 2nd block at your right. A small door between a pharmacy and supermarket and 23 steps lead you to the entrance of Casa Aleido.
We had a very warm welcome, and even when arrived late we had a delicious meal. Whenever you feel like a chat, or need some advice, you can drop in the living room and have a nice chat with Aleido or one of the staff.
The 1st time we stayed there a group of musicians staying there. When we asked them what kind of music they played, the chairs were pushed aside and they gave us our own private concert.
One of the main reasons to wake up on time is to have Jorjitos breakfast, since it is the best start of the day in Havana you can think of.
One night after returning from the Casa la Musica, we had nightcap, and then we got some salsa lessons in the living room and finally, by 05:00 am, we went to bed. To get up at 09:00 again for the breakfast of course.

My review: Casa Aleido is quiet, safe and very well located, just behind Inglaterra Hotel. The hosts are charming, the breakfast (5 pesos) is delicious and guests have their house keys, so you can go in ou out as you want. A really great find. We would go back anytime. Perfect! Eric & JF

Review
My husband and I have stayed 7 days at this very friendly casa.
The place is located in the limit of Habana Vieja and Habana Centro.At a few steps from Parque Central and the buses that brings you to the Playa del Este.
Aleido is extremly nice and always ready to help.
We had the red room and it is quite big.Others are smaller but I am sure that they are very comfortable as well.
The rooms are very clean and the staff quite discret.
Our stay in Havana was a real pleasure and part of it goes to Aleido's kindness and hospitality.

Review
Aleido is a special warm-hearted man and good host. He and his friends, cook dinner and the house is a museum of the very special situation of the casa is good, the house has no street number. The apartment is about a small business, so do not give up the search. Two of his rooms have no windows.

Casa aleido is in a very good position between centro habana e habana vieja, perfect for who want to discover La Habana by feet.It's beautiful and full of colours, every corner hides a suprise to discover! the rooms are furnished with fantasy, every one differently from the other! aleido and the other guys working there are very kind and helpful!
