Casa Buena Vista

My review: We got the room on the top floor. Spacious and airy. Although there was a lot of water in the room one day when it was pouring rain, but that was a really heavy raining almost for 12 hours non-stop, so I don’t think that would happen if it was raining on a different scale. Ivan and Rosa were very friendly people and very helpful . The food prepared in their casa was amazing.Slightly more expensive than the food in other casas we have stayed, but definitely worth it. Ask for the Baracoa speciality – “ fish with the coconut milk sauce”. I had to ask for the recipe, that’s how amazing it was.
We went out dancing with the owners on 1 occasion and we had so much fun. It was my Birthday while we were staying with them and I got a surprise , I did not expect that at all - they prepared the cake for me and made me feel very special
There is a fire station next door, so not a bad view from the roof terrace at all !!! Good looking bomberos on top of the sea view . Una VISTA muy BUENA what else can you ask for on your holiday !

My review: Lovely Casa with really friendly hosts. We too had an internal room but the one on the second floor looked amazing.

How was your room?: Nice, clean and had good air conditioning

How was the food they offer?: The best we had in Cuba - really good. They definitely can cook here.

Other services they offer: We went for a picnic by the river with our hosts and their friends and family

My review: Baracoa is one of the most beautiful places in Cuba and the Casa Buena Vista one of the best places to stay in the town. From the Roof terrace you have a wonderful magic view over the roofs of the town on the sea and the mountains in the background. There breakfast and dinner will be served, both meals rich and very fine tasting.
Rosi and Ivan are very friendly and warmhearted persons, they give you the feeling to be at home, and they do anything to help you during your stay and give you good hints for trips and activities.

How was your room?: The room is clean, has two single beds (good mattresses), air conditioning, bathroom, nicely done up.

How was the food they offer?: Breakfast: a rich fruit bowl (Mango, Bananas, Guadava, Pineapple, Melon), eggs (fried, scrambled or tortilla), cheese, marmalade, bred and butter, coffee, hot chocolate (the very good from Baracoa);
Dinner: very good Fish (local food), meat: chicken, lamb, pork, natural rice, fine spicy dips, and desserts

Other services they offer: Ivans special offer was a wonderful Mojito (made with honey)!
one of the best tips, they gave, was a guided hiking trail to the Humboldt National Park, a paradise of natural flora and fauna.

Other comments: This wonderful place is unforgettable, so we are shure to come back!

Casa Buena Vista

My review: Ivan and Rosi are really wonderful people. They have a clean and friendly home and a terrace on the top floor that overlooks the city, the ocean, mountains and jungle. The only drawback was that they only speak Spanish... which actually helped us practice our Spanish a lot!

How was your room?: The room was fine, if a bit central so not private and somewhat noisy... but the family go to bed early so it's not an issue. They were planning a second room upstairs that I would try next time, and there will be a next time as they really are nice people!

How was the food they offer?: The food was top notch. I highly recommend the goat and the octopus (along with the local fish in coconut milk and anything else they feed you!).

Other services they offer: Juice or coffee in the afternoon on their upstairs terrace, and anything else you ask them for... very accommodating people.
