Santiago de Cuba to Guántanamo
Taking
de highway that joins Santiago
de Cuba and Guántanamo,
you can find towns such as: Al Caney, El Cristo, La Maya. The traveler
goes skirting the oriental mountains surrounded by thick vegetation,
sugar cane fields and other cultivations. About 150 km there is
Guántanamo,
capital of the province with
the same name, where you can lodge in modest hotels.
From
Guántanamo to Baracoa
You are moving towards the oriental end of the Island. For 250 km
you will cross mountains, slopes, forests, deep rivers, fences,
springs of water, coast and beach. A very exiting nature along a
great journey.
In the city of Baracoa,
located at the Caribbean Sea, we recommend the visitor to lodge
at Hotel La Rusa, however, Baracoa
also has many nice casa
particulares to stay
It is important not to miss to climb the mountain El Yunque which
is one of the most spectacular places in Cuba.
