The
website Cuba-Junky is born out of passion for Cuba and in specific
the people of this beautiful island. Besides to sell commercial
stuff to keep this site going we also help many Cubans in need and
we can do that with YOUR HELP.
Below you will find some projects, our donors made some Cubans very
happy, thanks for those who made a donation!
Sounds
easy but it isn't. In first where do you find people who are willing
to give money, second there are already many projects around the
world, and third people get tired to donate and feel insecure if
their money will be spend at the projects they did choose for.
Thats
why we have created this page, to show you what we are busy with
and the results afterwards.
Also
... it is not easy to help Cubans because they are afraid for politic
movements. We have to tell them over and over again Cuba-Junky is
NOT a politic website and our projects are small scaled
and individual. We do not expect and want anything
in return of the Cuban people or their government. Its all and only
about People to People.
Just
keep on believing!
Madruga |
In
the beginning of the summer of 2005 Cuba was the victim of
hurricane Dennis, many people in the center of Cuba lost their
houses or had at least many damage. Cuba-Junky decided to
help these people.

We
choose for the town of Madruga,
a small village near Guines, along the old Carretera Central.
We do have a contact person in Madruga who was able to
assist us with finding the people who needed the most.
The poverty we saw was shocking, check out the pictures
we made there. |
After
4 months collecting money we went back and registered the
people who received money, they had to tell us what they wanted
to do with it. It wasn't really necessary because the houses
were in such a bad condition that all reasons would have passed
our agreement.

After
School Study House |
In
Centro Havana lives the retired teacher Victoria she helps
the youth of Havana with their homework and understanding
their lessons. She earns a very small salary and receives
some Cuban Pesos for these lessons. The kids have these lessons
in a small window-less livingroom in Centro Havana. Cuba-Junky
has already given some help but not enough to arrange a better
location for this pasionated retired teacher. If you like
to help this Cubana, please donate and let us know you prefer
to help the teacher.

Mario |
| In
the middle of the picture on the right is Mario, a retired
Cuban who gives Tai-Chi lessons to other older Cubans.
Lessons to relax and heel your soul, help you get through
the daily tough Cuban life. Mario does not receive any
money for this, he just loves to do this. Mario has a
salary of about 8 USD per month, a family memember in
the USA that does not help him wit some extra money. Cuba-Junky
helps Mario to keep on going because Mario is a positive
human being and help friends. |

There are 12 children

the orphans (a woman 26 yr) became a doctor and
still lives at the home.
This is a beautifully decorated, clean, organized

flea and tick preventative are greatly need. For your information
if an animal has a flea infestation it has worms. Therefore
the need to rid the animal of fleas goes hand in hand with
worming.
Any
product will be appreciated collar shampoos drops spray etc.
Below is a list of specific items requested.
- DRONCIT
(Praziquante)
Praziquantel kills mature and immature development stages
of tapeworms in the intestine after a single treatment.
- SEBACIL
(Phoxim)
Control of mange mites and lice in pigs. Control of mange
mites (Psoroptes, Chorioptes, Sarcoptes spp.) Psorergates
ovis (itch mite), sucking an biting lice, sheep keds, flies,
fly larvae in wounds and ticks on all domestic animals except
cats.
These
items below are required for the surgeries and include, anaesthetics
and some powerful pain killers.
To obtain these items a Veterinarian or an animal health science
company will have to be contacted.
- Ketaset
Ketamine 10 %
Anaesthetic This item is closely controlled due to it’s
popularity as a street the street drug ‘Special K’.
- ROMPUN
INJ. SOLUTION 2% (Xylazine hydrochloride)
Sedation, anaesthesia, analgesia and muscle relaxation in
cattle horses dogs and cats. Rompun can be used in cattle,
horses, dogs and cats for the tranquilisation of refractory
animals for examinations and treatments as weil as for surgical
procedures.
- Stadol,
Torbutrol, Torbugesic-SA, Ft. Dodge/Wyeth, (Butorphanol)
This is one of the few opioid drugs that work consistently
well in cats.
- ANTISEDAN®,(
atipamezole hydrochloride)
Atipamezol,rapidly reverses the effects of medetomidine
in dogs and cats to normal: the animals regain consciousness
and become ambulatory etc.
